4. The gear position indicator lights fail to
come on.
1. Gear position indicator light bulb and socket

Check the gear position indicator light bulb
and socket for continuity.
Refer to “CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS”.

Are the gear position indicator light bulb and
socket OK?
YES NO
Replace the gear
position indicator
light bulb, socket or
both.
2. Neutral switch

Check the neutral switch for continuity.
Refer to “CHECKING THE SWITCHES”.

Is the neutral switch OK?
YES NO
Replace the neutral
switch.
YES NO
This circuit is OK.
The wiring circuit
from the turn signal
switch to the turn
signal light coupler
is faulty and must
be repaired.

Set the main switch to “ON”.

Set the turn signal switch to “
4
” or “
6
”.

Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) of the
chocolate
1
or dark green lead terminal
2
at the turn signal light coupler (wire har-
ness side) and chocolate
3
or dark green
4
at the turn signal indicator light coupler
(wire harness side).

Is the voltage within specification?
