Part names
Piano
Silencing lever (page 16)
Activates the Silent Piano™ function.
DC IN jack (page 14)
For connecting the supplied AC adaptor.
Pedals
Damper pedal
Sustains notes even after you release the keys.
When the Silent Piano™ function is enabled and
a piano Voice is selected, pressing this pedal
reproduces the complicated interaction of both
strings and soundboard resonance by the VRM
technology (page 37), and makes the sound
more like a real acoustic piano.
The damper pedal features an expressive half-
pedal function, and allows you to set the degree
to which pressing the damper pedal applies the
half-pedal effect (page 35), when using the
Silent Piano™ function.
Upright Piano
Silencing pedal (For models not equipped
with a sostenuto pedal)
Activates the Silent Piano™ function by pressing
and sliding to the left.
Sostenuto pedal (For models equipped
with a sostenuto pedal)
Sustains the notes that are being played at the
time you press and hold the pedal, even after
you release the keys, letting you play additional
non-sustained notes. Subsequently played
notes are not affected.
Grand Piano
Sostenuto pedal / Bass sustain pedal
When using the Silent Piano function, there is
no Sostenuto effect.
Soft pedal
Reduces the volume and slightly changes the
timbre of the notes. The notes played before
this pedal is pressed are not affected.
