FRONT FORK
NOTE:

WARNING
 Install the fork spring with its smaller pitch up-
ward.
 Before installing the cap bolt, apply grease to
the O-ring.
 Temporarily tighten the cap bolt.

INSTALLING THE FRONT FORK LEGS
The following procedure applies to both of the
front fork legs.
1. Install:
 front fork leg
Temporarily tighten the upper and lower
bracket pinch bolts.
Make sure that the inner fork tube is flush with
the top of the upper bracket.
2. Tighten:
 lower bracket pinch bolt
1
 cap bolt
2
 upper bracket pinch bolt
3
Lower bracket pinch bolt
23 Nm (2.3 mkg)
Cap bolt
23 Nm (2.3 mkg)
Upper bracket pinch bolt
30 Nm (3.0 mkg)
Make sure that the brake hoses are routed
properly.
3. Adjust:
 spring preload adjusters (left and right)
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE FRONT FORK
LEGS” in chapter 3.
