TROUBLESHOOTING Troubleshooting In case of a problem with this unit, check the following list first. If you cannot solve your problem with the suggested solutions or if your problem is not listed below, turn off and unplug this unit, and consult the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center. General Problem Cause Power turns on but immediately shuts off. The power cable may be connected improperly.
Troubleshooting iPod Status message Cause Not support The iPod is not supported by this unit. The iPod is connected Your iPod is properly connected to the terminal of this unit, and the connection between your iPod and this unit is completed. Your iPod was removed from the iPod terminal of this unit. This unit cannot play back songs currently stored on your iPod. Troubleshooting ■ XM Satellite Radio Status message LOADING OFF AIR CHECK XM TUNER CHECK ANTENNA NO SIGNL UNAUTH Cause Solution The XM Mini-Tuner is acquiring audio or program information from the XM satellite signal. This message can also occur in weak XM signal conditions. The XM channel you selected is not currently broadcasting. The XM Mini-Tuner is not installed in the XM Mini-Tuner Dock or the XM Mini-Tuner Dock is not connected to this unit.
Troubleshooting Remote control Problem The remote control does not work properly. Cause The remote control may be operated outside its operation range. The remote control sensor on this unit may be exposed to direct sunlight or lighting (inverted fluorescent lamps). The battery may be worn out. There are obstacles between the sensor of this unit and the remote control. Solution For information on the remote control operation range, refer to “Using the remote control” (☞ P. 5).
NOTES ON DISCS Notes on discs Disc information This unit is designed for use with audio CD, CD-R, and CD-RW. Also, this unit can play back 8 cm (3 inch) compact discs. y This unit can play back discs bearing any of the logo marks above. A disc logo mark is printed on the disc and the disc jacket. Handling a disc • Do not touch the surface of the disc. Hold a disc by its edge (and the center hole). • Do not leave a disc in the disc tray when not playing.
Glossary ■ MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3) ■ Sampling frequency One of the audio compression methods used by MPEG. It employs the irreversible compression method, which achieves a high compression rate by thinning out the data of hardly audible part to human ears. It is said to be capable of compressing the data quantity by about 1/11 (128 kbps) while maintaining a similar audio quality to music CD. The number of sampling (process for digitalizing analog signals) per second.

Le XM Mini-Tuner n’est pas installé sur le XM Mini-Tuner Dock ou le XM Mini-Tuner Dock n’est pas raccordé à cet appareil.

Le capteur de télécommande de cet appareil est exposé à la lumière du soleil ou d’un éclairage (lampe fluorescente à convertisseur). La pile est épuisée. Il y a des obstacles entre le détecteur de cet appareil et la télécommande.

Glossaire ■ MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3) ■ Fréquence d’échantillonnage Une des méthodes de compression du son utilisée par MPEG. Il s’agit d’une méthode de compression irréversible, atteignant un très haut niveau de compression en réduisant les données inaudibles à l’oreille humaine.
