CONNECTING AN iPod Set your iPod in the iPod dock. y An iPod is charged when set in the iPod dock. During power save mode, the iPod is not charged. Dock Adaptor Notes • To secure the connection, attach a compatible Dock Adapter supplied with the iPod or an iPod Universal Dock Adapter (sold separately), and remove the protective case covering from your iPod. • If you do not use an adapter or if the adapter is not compatible, the connection could be loose or poor, which could cause damage or malfunctions.
OPERATION English LISTENING TO iPod For details on compatible iPod models, refer to “SPECIFICATIONS” (☞ P. 18). For details on how to operate the remote control, refer to “Remote control” (☞ P. 5). 1 1 Set your iPod in the iPod dock. 2 2 Set SOURCE to iPod. 3 Play the iPod. Playback operations are available with the remote control, iPod and this unit. SOURCE y • You can remove the iPod whenever you want.
SWITCHING THE DISPLAY X Skipping folder for data CD/USB device Select the folder with FOLDER. FOLDER Skip to the first file in the previous/next folder. The folder name is displayed on the front panel display for a certain period. ROOT is displayed for the root folder when the directory contains playable files. Remote control SWITCHING THE DISPLAY You can switch the playback information shown on the front panel display. Some special characters may not be shown properly.
LISTENING TO RADIO STATIONS English Presetting radio stations You can store your favorite 30 radio stations with the preset function. X Automatic preset tuning 1 2 1 Set SOURCE to FM. 3 Press and hold ENTER MEMORY SOURCE 2 Press and hold MEMORY for more than 2 seconds. y Remote control Remote control To cancel the preset, press MEMORY again before step 3 is completed. 3 Press ENTER. The automatic preset starts.
USING ALARM FUNCTION Alarm features This unit can play back your favorite music and/or beep sound at the set time. Alarm features on this unit are described below. • This unit has 3 alarm types combining music and beep sound: SRC+BEEP Selected audio source and the beep sound are played at the set time. Source playback begins to fade in 3 minutes before the set time and the volume gradually increases to the set volume. Then, at the set time, the beep sound is activated.
USING ALARM FUNCTION (As required) ENTER PRESET When the source is CD/USB/FM, select a track or radio station for alarm. y • To select the last song or radio station you listened to, select “---”. • When the iPod is set as source, the track you listened to last time is resumed. 6 Set the alarm volume. 6 ENTER PRESET To have the alarm sound at the last volume level you used, select “---”. Once you have set the alarm volume, the alarm is set and the alarm indicator ( ) lights up.
SHUFFLE/REPEAT PLAYBACK X Stopping the alarm Press ALARM or . y • Unless you stop the alarm, the alarm stops after 60 minutes automatically. • The alarm function turns off when you stop the alarm, but settings such as the alarm time are saved for convenient use next time. To set the alarm again, press ALARM.
English USING SLEEP FUNCTION You can set the time to turn off the system automatically. 2 1 Press and hold VOLUME ENTER PRESET 1 Press and hold SNOOZE/ SLEEP for more than 2 seconds. 2 Select the sleep time from 30, 60, 90,120 and SLEEP OFF. When the time is set, the sleep function is set to on, and the SLEEP indicator lights up. y SNOOZE / SLEEP To exit without changing the current setting, press SNOOZE/SLEEP.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TROUBLESHOOTING In case of a problem with the unit, check the following list first. If you cannot solve your problem with the suggested solutions or if your problem is not listed below, turn off and unplug the unit, and consult the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center. English NOTES ON DISCS AND USB DEVICES Disc information This unit is designed for use with audio CD, CD-R*1, and CD-RW*1 with the logos followings. • If a disc becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth from the center out to the edge. Do not use record cleaner or paint thinner. • To avoid malfunction, do not use a commercially available lens cleaner. CONEXIÓN DE UN iPod Coloque el iPod en la base Dock para iPod. y Adaptador de la base Dock Cuando el iPod está colocado en la base Dock para iPod se carga automáticamente. En el modo de ahorro de energía, el iPod no se carga. Notas • Para fijar la conexión, coloque un adaptador de base Dock compatible suministrado con el iPod o un adaptador de acoplador universal de iPod (se vende por separado), y retire la carcasa protectora que cubre su iPod.

CAMBIO DE PANTALLA X Omisión de una carpeta de un CD de datos/dispositivo USB Seleccione la carpeta con FOLDER. FOLDER La unidad salta al primer archivo en la carpeta anterior o siguiente. El nombre de la carpeta aparece en la pantalla del panel frontal durante un cierto tiempo. ROOT aparece en la carpeta raíz cuando el directorio contiene archivos reproducibles. Mando a distancia CAMBIO DE PANTALLA Es posible cambiar la información de reproducción mostrada en la pantalla del panel frontal.
ESCUCHAR EMISORAS DE RADIO Presintonización de emisoras de radio Puede almacenar sus 30 emisoras de radio favoritas con la función de presintonización. X Presintonización automática 2 Mantener pulsado 1 Ajuste SOURCE en FM. 3 ENTER MEMORY SOURCE 2 Mantenga pulsado MEMORY durante más de 2 segundos. y Mando a distancia Para cancelar la presintonización, vuelva a pulsar MEMORY antes de completar el paso 3. Mando a distancia 3 Pulse ENTER. Comienza la presintonización automática.
USAR LA FUNCIÓN DE ALARMA Funciones de alarma Esta unidad puede reproducir su música favorita y sonido de pitido a la hora programada. A continuación se describen las funciones de alarma. • Esta unidad ofrece tres tipos de alarma, que combinan la música con el sonido de pitido: SRC+BEEP La fuente de audio seleccionada y el sonido de pitido se reproducen a la hora programada.
USAR LA FUNCIÓN DE ALARMA 5 (Según sus preferencias) ENTER PRESET 5 Seleccione una pista o emisora de radio (según sus preferencias). y • Para seleccionar la última canción o emisora que escuchó, seleccione “---”. • Si el iPod está ajustado como fuente, se reanudará la pista que se estaba escuchando la última vez. 6 Ajusta el volumen de la alarma. 6 ENTER PRESET Para que la alarma suene con el último nivel de volumen utilizado, seleccione “---”.
REPRODUCCIÓN ALEATORIA/REPETICIÓN X Parada de la alarma Pulse ALARM o . y • A menos que usted detenga la alarma, la alarma se detiene automáticamente después de 60 minutos. • La función de alarma se apaga al parar la alarma, pero los ajustes (como la hora) se guardan para que pueda utilizarlos la próxima vez. Para volver a programar la alarma, pulse ALARM.
USO DE LA FUNCIÓN DE TEMPORIZADOR DE APAGADO Puede configurar el momento en que se apagará el sistema automáticamente. Mantener pulsado VOLUME ENTER PRESET 2 Seleccione el tiempo de apagado entre 30, 60, 90,120 y SLEEP OFF. Al programar el tiempo, se activa la función de temporización de apagado y se ilumina el indicador SLEEP. y SNOOZE / SLEEP Para salir sin cambiar los ajustes actuales, pulse SNOOZE/SLEEP.

Causa Solución El sistema se encuentra en el modo de ahorro de energía (☞ P. 2). Ajuste CLOCK en ON en el panel posterior para cancelar el modo de ahorro de energía (☞ P. 4). Es posible que el disco introducido en la unidad no sea compatible. El disco está sucio.
NOTAS SOBRE LOS DISCOS Y LOS DISPOSITIVOS USB Información sobre los discos Español Esta unidad está diseñada para su uso con CD, CD-R*1 y CD-RW*1 de audio con los siguientes logotipos. • Si un disco se ensucia, límpielo con un paño limpio y seco desde el centro hasta el borde. No utilice ni limpiadores para discos ni disolventes. • Para evitar un funcionamiento incorrecto, no utilice un limpiador de lentes disponible en el mercado.
