Remote Control Assignments
When controlling SONAR 8
A specific function has been assigned to each page. Use the
[SELECTED PART CONTROL] and [MULTI PART CONTROL] button
to select the desired page.

* Pressing the [PRE 1] – [PRE 8] buttons has the same function as pressing
the [ENTER] button when the cursor is located at channels 1 – 8 on the LCD
of the MOTIF XF.

[F4] E Bank

Scrolls through the track indication on the LCD
of the MOTIF XF every eight channels.
Buttons/Knobs Functions
[F1] Tracks (Track Parameter mode)
[F1] Tracks [F1] Tracks (Selected
Channel mode)
Assigns the Track settings to the
knobs on the MOTIF XF. This
applies to the two DAW mode
types listed at left.
Knobs 1 – 8 Edits each of the parameters.
[ENTER] (with the cursor on any
channel.)*
Resets the parameter value to
the default.

[F2] Pan
[F2] Pan [F2] Pan (Selected
Channel mode about Pan/Surround)
Assigns the parameters of each
channel’s pan to the knobs on
the MOTIF XF.
Knobs 1 – 8 Edits each of the parameters.

Resets the parameter value to

Changes the Plug-in number when
the [EDIT] is turned on.
Knobs 1 – 8 (Band mode) For editing each frequency band.
Fader 1 8 (Band mode) For editing the Q (bandwidth) of each
frequency band.

Assigns the settings related to the
Send Effect to the knobs on the
MOTIF XF.

Changes a parameter to be edited via a Knob
in order one by one when [EDIT] is turned on.
[F4] E Bank

Changes the parameters to be edited via a
Knobs in groups of eight when [EDIT] is turned
on.
[F1] E Channel
[F2] Channel F
(Selected Channel)
Changes an indicated parameter in order one
by one when [EDIT] is turned on.
[F4] E Bank

(Selected Channel)
Changes the indicated parameters in groups
of eight when [EDIT] is turned on.
[SF1] Flip Assigns the function of the Channel Knobs to
the Faders.
[SF1] Flip [SF1] Flip Exchanges the functions between the Channel
Knobs and the Faders.
[SF2] Edit Assigns a parameter to a Knobs by using the
[F1] E Channel/[F2] Channel F and [F4] E
Bank/[F5] Bank F buttons.
[SF3] Name/Val Changes the indication of the parameter name
and its value.
[EDIT] M2 + [SF3] Name/
Val
Turns the Level Meter indication on or off.
However, pressing these buttons moves
through the statuses in succession (on, off,
off).

New Audio
New MIDI Fit Track Fit Prjct M1
Buttons Functions
[F1] New Audio Creates a new Audio track at the end of the song.
[F2] New MIDI Creates a new MIDI track at the end of the song.
[F3] Fit Track Adjusts the size of all track indications to the Track
window, and displays the top track at the top line.
[F4] Fit Prjct In addition to Fit Track function, this adjusts the
display in the time axis.
[SF3] Next Win Moves the next window to the front of the screen.
[SF4] Close Win Closes the current window.
