7. Turn:
8crankshaft
(several turns counterclockwise)
8. Check:
8“I” mark a
Align the “I” mark on the AC magneto ro-
tor with the stationary pointer b on the
crankcase cover.
8“I” mark c
Align the “I” mark on the camshaft
sprocket with the stationary pointer d on
the plate.
Out of alignment -» Correct.
Refer to the installation steps above.
9. Tighten:
8camshaft sprocket bolt
XI 30 Nm (3.0 m * kg, 21.7 ft * lb)

Be sure to tighten the camshaft sprocket
bolt to the specified torque to avoid the
possibility of the bolts coming loose and
damaging the engine.
10. Measure:
8valve clearance
Out of specification -» Adjust.
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE VALVE
CLEARANCE” in chapter 3.
