Troubleshooting
Symptom Possible causes Response
Can’t communicate with
the device from Amp
Editor.
The computer’s IP address set-
ting is incorrect.
Refer to the IP address setting (page 17) in Chapter 3 Setup,
and set the computers IP address.
Can’t communicate with
the device from Amp
Editor.
Firewall blocks the communica-
tion.
Windows XP:
Choose [Start] [Control Panel] ( [Network and Internet
Connections]), and double-click [Windows Firewall]. Click the
[Exceptions] tab and select “Amp Editor.” If Amp Editor is not in
the list, click the [Add Program…] button and select to add
Amp Editor.
Windows Vista:
Click [Start] [Control Panel] [Allow a program through
Windows Firewall], and then click the [Exceptions] tab and
select “Amp Editor.” If Amp Editor is not in the list, click the [Add
program…] button and select to add Amp Editor.
Windows 7/8:
Click [Start] [Control Panel] [System and Security]
[Allow a program through Windows Firewall], and then click the
[Change settings] button and select “Amp Editor.” If Amp Editor
is not in the list, click the [Allow another program…] button and
select to add Amp Editor.
Can’t specify the
devices IP address from
Amp Editor.
The computer’s IP address set-
ting does not match the range
of IP addresses specified in the
Auto IP Address Assign Range
field of the “Network Setup”
dialog box.
Make sure that the most significant three digits of your com-
puter’s IP address setting and the IP address setting in the
Auto IP Address Assign field of the “Network Setup” dialog box
are in the range of 192.168.0–192.168.254. If you want to use
other settings, please contact your network administrator.
The computer’s subnet mask
setting is incorrect.
Set the computer’s subnet mask to “255.255.255.0”.
Can’t specify the
devices IP address from
the DHCP server.
The device was started up
before the DHCP server.
First start up the DHCP server, and then start up the device.
The devices IP Address Mode
is set to Manual.
In the “Network Setup” dialog box, click the [DHCP] button to
switch IP Address Mode to DHCP.
A device is not shown in
the Tree View window.
The device or network switch is
not powered-on.
Power-on the device or network switch. After a device has
been powered-on, it will take several seconds for it to appear in
the Tree View window.
There are conflicting device IP
addresses in the network.
In the “IP Address” dialog box, set each device to a different IP
address.
The most significant three digits
of the computer’s IP address do
not match the most significant
three digits of the device’s IP
address.
In the “IP Address” dialog box, set the most significant three
digits of the IP address to match.
You have confused the [NET-
WORK] connector and the
[DATA PORT] connector for
connection on the ACD1.
Connect the [NETWORK] connector to your computer, and
connect the [DATA PORT] connector to the Tn/PC-N series
amplifier.
You are using a network switch
to connect the ACD1 to a Tn/
PC-N series amplifier.
To connect the ACD1 to Tn/PC-N series amplifiers, use a
daisy-chain connection; do not use a network switch.
