2. Check:
Front brake discs
Refer to “CHECKING THE FRONT
BRAKE DISCS” on page 4-42.
3. Lubricate:
Oil seal lips
4. Install:
Collars
Front wheel sensor housing
Front wheel
Front wheel axle
TIP
Align the slot “a” in the front wheel sensor
housing with the projection “b” of the front fork
before assembly.
5. Tighten:
Front wheel axle
Front wheel axle pinch bolt

Before tightening the wheel axle, push
down hard on the handlebar several times
and check if the front fork rebounds
smoothly.
6. Measure:
TIP
Measure the distance “a” only if the wheel
bearings, wheel sensor rotor, or both were
replaced.
•Distancea
(between the wheel sensor rotor “1” and
wheel sensor housing “2”)
Out of specification Reinstall the bear-
ing or replace the wheel sensor rotor.
7. Install:
Front brake calipers
Cable guide
Front wheel sensor
Front brake hose holders
TIP
When installing the front wheel sensor, check
the wheel sensor lead for twists and the sensor
electrode for foreign materials.

Make sure there are no foreign materials
in the wheel hub. Foreign materials cause
damage to the inner sensor rotor and
wheel sensor.
To route the front wheel sensor lead, refer
to “CABLE ROUTING” on page 2-39.

Make sure the brake hose is routed prop-
erly.
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease

72 Nm (7.2 m·kgf, 52 ft·lbf)
Front wheel axle pinch bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)

28.7–29.3 mm (1.13–1.15 in)
Front brake caliper bolt
40 Nm (4.0 m·kgf, 29 ft·lbf)
