REMOVING THE CLUTCH
1. Remove:
Clutch assembly nut “1”
Clutch assembly “2”
TIP
Before removal, put alignment marks “a” and
“b” as shown.
While holding the clutch assembly with the
rotor holding tool “3”, loosen the clutch
assembly nut.
Align these marks during reassembly.

DISASSEMBLING THE CLUTCH
1. Remove:
Clip “1”
TIP
While compressing the clutch springs with the
clutch spring compressor “2”, remove the clip.
2. Remove:
Spring stopper plate “1”
TIP
To ensure proper balance of the clutch assem-
bly, one to three holes “a”, or no hole at all,
may have been drilled in the spring stopper
plate. Before removing the spring stopper
plate, make alignment marks on both the plate
and the clutch housing so that the plate can be
reinstalled in its original position.
3. Loosen:
Clutch boss nut “1”
TIP
While holding the clutch boss “2” with the uni-
versal clutch holder “3”, loosen the clutch boss
nut.
