A.Description
The XS750D is equippedwiththree " constantvelocity " (CV) carburetorsmountedonrubberintake
manifolds.
Air flow through the venturi is controlledby a throttleslide (vacuum piston).Theslide is raised and loweredby
enginevacuumratherthan a cablelinkeddirectlytothethrottlegrip.Thistype of carburetorCompensatesauto
-
maticallyforatmosphericpressurechangessuch as thoseencountered when ridingtohighaltitudes.

C.Disassembly
1. Preparetoseparate carburetors (separationnot
necessaryifonlyfloatleveladjustmentor
throttleslide inspection is tobedone). Re -
move starter lever (1 ). Loosen starter lever (2)
securingscrewsandremovestarterleverrod.
Removeupperandlower brackets. Noteposi -
tionofsynchronizingscrewsforguidancein
reassembly. Separate carburetors.

3. Removevacuumchamber cover. Remove the
spring,needlefittingplate,needle,anddia
-
phragm(vacuumpiston).
4. Note that there are tabsontherubberdia
-
phragm.Therearematchingrecessesinthe
carburetorbodyforthediaphragm
tabs.
5. To inspect starter jet, remove three (3) screws
holding the starterbodytothe left sideofthe
carburetor.
