Inspect vacuum pistonandrubberdiaphragm.

the piston
is
scratchedorthediaphragm
is
torn, the assemblymustbereplaced.

Examinecarburetorbodyandfuelpassages.
If
contaminated,washcarburetor
in
petroleum-
basedsolvent. Do not
use
causticcarburetor
cleaning solutions. Blowout
all
passagesand
jetswithcompressed
air.
2.
Examineconditionoffloats.
If
floats
are
leakingordamaged,theyshouldbereplaced.

Floatleveladjustment
Measurethedistancefromthebottomofthe
floattothefloatbowlgasket surface. Bendthe
tangonthefloatarm
if
anyfloatleveladjust
-
ment
is
necessary.Bothfloats must be
at
the
sameheight.Ifthefuellevel
is
toohigh,
a
rich
air/fuelmixturewilloccur.Iftoolow,
a
lean
mixturewillresult.
