2.Theswingarm is mountedontaperedbearings.
Movetheswingarmupanddown as shown.
Theswingarmshould move smoothly,with -
outtightness,bindingorroughspotsthat
couldindicatedamagedbearings.
Adjustment
1. Removepivotshaftplugsfrom left andright
sides oftheswingarm.
2.Measuregapbetween frame and swingarm on
leftandrightsides.There should be nomore
than (0.062 in.) differencebetween
the left andrightgaps.
NOTE: Itmaybe easier toinspectthegaps
withtherear wheel removed; however, such
removal is notnecessary.
3.Ifthe left andrightgapsdifferbymorethan
thelimit adjust as follows:
a. Loosenboththeleftandright pivot
shaft nuts.
b.Loosenpivotshaftonthesideofthegreater
swing gap.Loosenonlyslightly
(counterclockwise,approximatelyone - half
turn).Afterloosening,tighten the opposite
pivotshaft(clockwise)to0.5~0.6

c.Measuregapagain
between frame and swing
arm. If theleftandrightgapsare
not within
(0.062in.)ofeachother,repeatstep
d. When theleftandrightgapsareadjustedpro -
perly,tightenpivotshaftlock nut.
NOTE: Do notallowpivotshafttoturnwhile
tightening lock nut.

C.Removal
1. Removemiddlegearflangeholdingbolt.
2. Remove rearwheelandshockabsorbers. Re-
moverearbrakeass'y.
