Movetheswingarmupanddown

shown.
Theswingarmshould move smoothly,with

outtightness,bindingorroughspotsthat
couldindicatedamagedbearings.
Adjustment
1.
Removepivotshaftplugsfrom left andright
sides
oftheswingarm.
2.Measuregapbetween frame and swingarm on
leftandrightsides.There should be nomore
than (0.062 in.) differencebetween
the
left
andrightgaps.
NOTE:
Itmaybe
easier
toinspectthegaps
withtherear wheel removed; however, such
removal
is
notnecessary.
3.Ifthe
left
andrightgapsdifferbymorethan
thelimit adjust
as
follows:
a.
Loosenboththeleftandright pivot
shaft nuts.
b.Loosenpivotshaftonthesideofthegreater
swing gap.Loosenonlyslightly
(counterclockwise,approximatelyone
-
half
turn).Afterloosening,tighten the opposite
pivotshaft(clockwise)to0.5~0.6

c.Measuregapagain
between frame and swing
arm.
If
theleftandrightgapsare
not within
(0.062in.)ofeachother,repeatstep
d. When theleftandrightgapsareadjustedpro
-
perly,tightenpivotshaftlock nut.
NOTE: Do
notallowpivotshafttoturnwhile
tightening lock nut.

C.Removal
1.
Removemiddlegearflangeholdingbolt.
2.
Remove
rearwheelandshockabsorbers.
Re-
moverearbrakeass'y.
