Pre-operation checks should be made each time the motorcycle is used. Such an inspection can
be thoroughly accomplished in a very short time; and the added safety it assures is more than
worth the time involved.
WARNING
If any item in the PRE-OPERATION CHECK is not working properly, have it inspected and
repaired before operating the motorcycle.
Chassis fasteners
• Check all chassis fittings and fasteners.
• Tighten/Adjust if necessary.

Fuel tank
• Check fuel level/top-up as required. 5-10 ~ 5-11
Lights, signals and
switches
• Check for proper operation. 5-10, 7-31 ~ 7-33
Battery
• Check fluid level, top-up with distilled water if necessary. 5-10, 7-28 ~ 7-30
