Updating the unit’s firmware
automatically
The unit checks for firmware updates at the same time every day, and
automatically installs any it finds. When the firmware has been updated,
updated content is displayed on the Sound Bar Controller app the next
time the app is opened.
Updating the firmware adds new features to the unit or otherwise
improves the product. For details, see the product information page on
the Yamaha website.

n NOTICE
• Do not operate the unit or disconnect the power cord or network cable while the
firmware is being updated.
n NOTE
The following conditions must be met in order for firmware to be updated automatically.
• The network standby function or voice control ready function is enabled. For details,
see the following:
– “Enabling/disabling the network standby function”(p.39)
– “Operating the unit using voice commands (Amazon Alexa)”(p.24)
• The unit is connected to a network.
• The unit is turned off before 2:00 a.m.
Selecting the HDMI signal format
Problems such as a lack of sound or the appearance of abnormal colors
in a video may occur when some AV devices are connected to the unit.
Should this occur, changing the setting may resolve these issues.
Mode 1 (default) Select this mode in most cases.
Mode 2
Select this mode if problems such as the appearance of
abnormal colors in video have occurred.

Turn on the unit.

Press STEREO for at least five seconds.

Once the indicator has shown the setting applied to the unit
as follows, the unit will turn on.
