CARBURETOR
INSTALLING THE CARBURETOR
1. Install:
• carburetor
NOTE:
Align the projection a on the carburetor with
the slot b in the carburetor joint, and then
align the projection c on the carburetor with
the slot d in the air intake duct.
2. Install:
• throttle cable
• throttle cable cover
3. Adjust:
• throttle lever free play
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
LEVER FREE PLAY” in chapter 3.
4. Adjust:
• engine idling speed
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE ENGINE
IDLING SPEED” in chapter 3.

Before adjusting the throttle position sensor,
the engine idling speed should be properly
adjusted.

1. Check:
• throttle position sensor

a. Turn the main switch to “ON”.
b. Connect the pocket tester (20 V DC) to the
throttle position sensor.
c. Check the throttle position sensor input volt-
age.
Out of specification → Check the wire har-
ness between battery and C.D.I. unit and
throttle position sensor.
