Refer to the chart below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below
or if the instruction below does not help, set this unit to the standby mode, disconnect the AC power supply cable, and
contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.
General
This unit fails to turn on
when STANDBY/ON is
pressed, or enters the
standby mode soon after the
power has been turned on.

This unit suddenly enters the
standby mode.
No sound.
The sound suddenly goes
off.
The AC power supply cable is not firmly
connected to the AC wall outlet.
This unit has been exposed to a strong
external electric shock (such as lightning
and strong static electricity).
The internal temperature becomes too high
and the overheat protection circuitry has
been activated.
The sleep timer has turned the unit oft'.
Incorrect input or output cable connections.
No appropriate input source has been
selected.
The volume is turned clown.
The sound is muted.
The signals this unit cannot reproduce (such
as PCM signals with more than 96 kHz of
sampling frequency) are being received
from the source component.
Connect the AC power supply cable firmly
to the AC wall outlet.
SUPPORT AUDIO is set to OTHER and
HDMI audio signals are not being played
back on this unit.
Set this unit to the standby mode, disconnect
the AC power supply cable, plug it back in
after 30 seconds, and use it normally.
Wait I_r about one hour for this unit to cool
clown and turn it back on.
Turn on the power and play back the source
again.
Connect the cables properly. If the problem 16
persists, the cables may be defective.
Select an appropriate input source with 42
INPUT or the input selector buttons.
Tnrn up the volume. 44
Press MUTE or VOLUME +_ to resume 44

Play a source whose signals can be

No sound from the center The output level of the center channel is set 70
channel, to n_ininmm.
No sound from the surround The output level of the surround channels is Raise the output level of the surround 70
channels, set to minimum, channels.
Turn on the power and play back the source
again.
Press MUTE or VOLUME +_ to resume 44
audio output and adjust the volume level.
Press one of the beam mode buttons on the 45
remote control to select a multi-channel
playback mode and play back the source or
program once lnore.
Raise the level of the center channel.
