Cuidados del instrumento Siga las indicaciones que mencionamos a continuación para prolongar la vida útil de servicio del instrumento. • Tenga cuidado cuando transporte el instrumento.
Precauciones relacionadas con el instrumento El cuerpo del instrumento está hecho de maderas naturales (abeto, arce, ébano, etc.) unidas con cola. Por esta razón, es posible que en ciertos casos, los cambios súbitos de temperatura o de humedad causen el desencolado, o problemas relacionados con la afinación o la interpretación. Tenga en cuenta el entorno y la forma en la que utiliza el instrumento.

Antes de tocar el instrumento ■ Acerca del puente El instrumento sale de fábrica con el puente correctamente montado y alineado en la parte superior del instrumento. Después de haber confirmado que el puente está correctamente alineado, afine el instrumento. • Las cuatro ranuras del puente proporcionan la separación adecuada entre las cuerdas. Asegúrese de que cada cuerda esté colocada en su ranura correspondiente como se muestra en la ilustración siguiente.
Antes de tocar el instrumento • Asegúrese de que el lado del puente que está orientado al cordal esté en ángulo recto con la parte superior del instrumento. Si el puente está inclinado hacia un lado, ponga el instrumento sobre una superficie estable, afloje un poco las cuerdas y ajuste con ambas manos y con cuidado el ángulo del puente. Asegúrese de que las cuerdas no se salgan de sus ranuras.
Antes de tocar el instrumento • El tensor afinaprimas de la primera cuerda puede utilizarse para afinar con precisión el tono de la misma. Precaución • Cuando afine las cuerdas, no afloje ni apriete excesivamente el afinador de precisión. De lo contrario, podría causar daños en el instrumento o producir ruido durante la interpretación. • Tenga presente que el afinador puede ponerse en contacto con el cuerpo y causar daños si el puente se quita del instrumento.
Cambio de las cuerdas Con el tiempo, a medida que se utilizan las cuerdas, la calidad del sonido se reduce gradualmente, y llega un momento en que resulta difícil afinar el instrumento. Cambie las cuerdas cuando crea que ya son demasiado viejas. Cambie siempre las cuerdas una por una, aunque tenga que cambiar todas las cuerdas. Precaución 1 2 • El extremo de las cuerdas es afilado y puede producirle cortes en los dedos. Tenga cuidado cuando cambie las cuerdas.

Cambio de las cuerdas Si la primera cuerda (E) está provista de un tubo protector, quite el tubo o coloque el tubo de modo que no perturbe la vibración de la cuerda como se muestra en la ilustración siguiente.
