Side Discharge Chute (Bolt-On)
NOTE: Use the hardware in Group 2 to complete the
following steps.
1. Align the holes on the chute deflector with the
corresponding holes on the deck surface. See Fig. 3-7.
2. Insert screws down through the chute deflector and
through the top of the deck.
3. Secure each screw with a lock nut.
4. The rope guide is attached to the right side of the upper
handle. Loosen the wing knob which secures the rope
guide. See Fig. 3-5.
a. Hold blade control against upper handle.
b. Slowly pull starter rope handle from engine and slip
starter rope into the rope guide. See Fig. 3-5.
c. Tighten rope guide wing knob.
d. Use the cable tie provided to secure cable to the
lower handle. Pull the cable tie tight and trim excess.
Rear Wheels
1. Using bolts and washers from Group 1 of the hardware
pack, secure the rear wheels to the deck as shown in Fig.
3-6. The washer should be installed with the crown side
facing the wheel.
IMPORTANT: Make sure both front and rear wheels are
attached to the deck in the same hole so that ALL wheels
are at the same relative position to ensure an even cut.
NOTE: The lowest height (top hole) is recommended for
use only on smooth lawns with short grasses (e.g. Bermuda,
zoysia). Refer to Cutting Height in the Adjustments section.
