fluid drops rapidly, while “increase” means that the
temperature rises rapidly. The maximum allowable ranges
in both cases are indicated by the curves shown in the
diagrams, with the solid line indicating the maximum
increase, and the broken line the maximum decrease.

Note: Avoid locations with much vibration (where the pipe
