4. Hardware Installation
The following sect ions in t his chapt er describe how t o install AG- 623C
Module
4.1. Installation Overview
AG-623C wireless module is design for Access Point, Router, ATU-R, Printer Server series, IP Camera
series and Internet Video Server only.
4.2. Safety Recommendations
The safety guidelines are as follows:
λ Keep t he board area clear and dust- free before, during, and aft er inst allat ion.
λ Keep t ools away from walk areas where you and ot hers could fall over t hem .
λ Do not wear loose clot hing or j ewelry, such as earrings, bracelet s, or chains, t hat could get
caught in t he board.
λ
Wear safet y glasses if you are working under any condit ions t hat m ight be hazardous t o your
eyes.
λ Do not perform any act ion t hat creat es a pot ent ial hazard t o people or m akes
the equipm ent unsafe.
λ Never attem pt t o lift an obj ect t hat is t oo heavy for one person to handle.
4.3. Maintaining Safety with Electricity
Warning: Before working on a board or working near power supplies, unplug the power cord on AC units;
on DC units, disconnect the power at the circuit breaker
.
Follow t hese guidelines when w orking on equipm ent powered by elect ricit y:
λ Do not work alone if pot ent ially hazardous condit ions exist anywhere in your
work space.
λ Never assum e t hat power is disconnect ed from a circuit; always check t he
circuit .
ext ension cables, frayed power cords, and m issing safet y grounds.
λ I f an elect rical accident occurs, proceed as follows:
– Use caut ion; do not becom e a vict im yourself.

Disconnect power from the syst em .
– I f possible, send anot her person to get m edical aid. Ot herw ise, assess t he condition of t he vict im
and t hen call for help.
– Det erm ine if the person needs rescue breathing or ext ernal cardiac com pressions; t hen t ake
appropriat e act ion.

Avoiding Elect rostat ic Discharge
Before you inst all t he
AG- 623C m odule, ground yourself by touching a piece of m et al
to avoid elect rost atic discharge ( ESD). You should also take t he following
precaut ions t o prevent dam age t o t he AG- 623C m odule:
λ Keep t he AG- 623C m odule in its antistat ic- shielded bag until
you are ready to inst all it .
λ Handle the
AG- 623C m odule by it s edges.
λ Ensure t he connect or is connected t o above Model’s board tightly.
