Dynamic 48V
This adjusts how Nomad supply’s 48 volt phantom power to analog microphones.
• OFF – 48V behavior is normal (48-volt power is always available).
• Power Save – the 48V supply is only turned on when one or more input channel have 48V turned on. So if you
aren’t running any phantom powered microphones and don’t have phantom power turned on in any of the
inputs Nomad will shut off the internal phantom power supply.
• Auto Kill – turns off 48V when Nomad is running on a low voltage power source (below 10V) to prevent
possible damage to the 48V supply.
Processor Speed
This adjusts the speed of the processor to allow for faster mirroring.
• Normal - This is the typical setting that would be used.
• Fast 1- This will increase mirroring speed to help when using MP3 recording.
• Fast 2 - This is currently the same setting at Fast 1.
USB Status
This page will display if the USB drive is ready for mirroring.
Allow Logging
Allows for Nomad to log warning and error messages. The logged messages are displayed on the log screen.
Log Screen
This is where Nomad displays the logged errors and warnings. This is used to diagnose your Nomad.
Upgrade Code
This page is used to enter in a factory code to upgrade Nomad.
To enter the upgrade code you must do so directly use the alpha / numeric multi-function keys.
WARNING: Randomly entering in code numbers can cause your Nomad to lock up, permanently. It will need to
be sent in for service.
Trim Calibration Channels / Trim Calibrate
These settings are used to calibrate the analog input trims. Calibrating the input trims will make the 6 XLR trims
accurate within +/- 1dB of each other. This is useful in setting up stereo mics.
Slate Always On
• Normal - This is the typical setting that would be used. With this setting pressing and holding the slate key will
activate the slate mic.
• Forced - When you activate the slate mic this setting locks the slate mic in the on position. Note a power cycle will
deactivate the mic.
NOTE: You can leave the processor speed set to Fast 1 - though if you experience any crashing or odd behavior set
the processor speed to Normal.
NOTE: Once the trims are calibrated there should not be a need to ever re-calibrate. Nomad’s with a serial number
higher than 10688 will already be calibrated at the factory. So it is unlikely that it will ever need to be re-calibrated.
