Nomad is unlike any oth er rec or der. The Nomad 4 and 6 ca n record to t wo C om pact
Flash
cards at the sa me time . Th e Nomad 8·12 can record to two Compact Fl ash
cards and either an external USB recording device or to int ernal micro SD card at
the s am e time.
The Primary media uses the Zax com MARF file system. The advantage to this is that
any power loss to the system while in reco rd w ill not resu lt in a loss of recorded
audio as
is common to all other portable record ing sy ste ms. Nomad automatically
clo ses all open files at the point the audio recording was inter ru pte d with no lo ss of
audio up to that point. The Primary me dia while using a proprietary file sys tem is
100% compatible w ith mac or PC by lJtilizing the fr ee file conversion utility
Zaxconv ert . This utility may be do wnl oa ded from www . zax com.com. The mirror
ca rd will record the files as a BWAV file.
All
recorded files are dire cted to individual folders. The pr imary folder menu allows
for a recording folder to be selected and erased. Holding the stop key while the
Nomad is in stop mode will also allow for the del et ion of the last record ed se gment.
The primary and
mirror folders can be di ff erent or the same. If select to be the
same then the mirror audio will be the same as the audio currently being recorded
on
the primary media.

ote all primary and mirr or cards must be form atte d by Nom ad before use.
Curren tl y 32gig cards are the largest recommend for use in Nomad. Check w ith
Zaxcom for a current upd ate on this restriction.
