EXPANDER PARMS
ON
The Expander can be used to Expand” the dynamic range of the audio signal. The Expander will be
used to make the quiet sounds even quieter by reducing the level of the signal that falls below what
the threshold is set at which will essentially reducing the noise floor. This is basically the opposite of
what the compressor does. Like the compressor the expander has an adjustable threshold and ratio.
The compressor only takes effect when the signal goes below the threshold.
To enter the Expander Menu

Expander Parameters
PARMS (Parameters): OFF / ON
EXP RATIO (Expansion Ratio): Valid range: 1:1.00 to 1:4.00, In 0.01 steps
Sets the expansion ratio. For example a 1:2.0 expansion ratio means for
every 1 dB above the expansion threshold the gain will be reduced 2 dB.
EXP THRESH (Expansion Threshold): Valid range: 0 to 96dB, In 1dB steps.
Sets the threshold above which gain reduction occurs.
REDUCE (Expander Gain Reduction): Valid range: 0 to 36dB, In 1dB steps.
Sets the limit on the amount of gain reduction caused by the expander.
