This guide applies to the following Model Numbers: ZBK-ET5X-10RH1, ZBK-
ET5X-10SCN, ZBK-ET5X-8RH1 and ZBK-ET5X-8SCN.
All Zebra devices are designed to be compliant with rules and regulations in
locations they are sold and will be labeled as required.

Laser Devices
Class 2 laser scanners use a low power, visible light diode. As with any very
bright light source such as the sun, the user should avoid staring directly into
the light beam. Momentary exposure to a Class 2 laser is not known to be
harmful.
The following statement is required to comply with US and international
regulations.

CAUTION: Power off the ET5X before installing or
removing Expansion Back.

Remove battery cover and store in safe place.

On 8” version only, remove rubber gasket.

8” Configuration
Align expansion back with device. Ensure that the power
pack slot cover is aligned with the bottom of the device and
the interface connector on expansion back aligns with
interface connector on device.

Screws (4)
Using a T6 Torx screwdriver, secure expansion back to
device using four screws. Torque to 14 n-cm.
CAUTION In order to avoid or minimize the potential risk of
ergonomic injury follow the recommendations below.
Consult with your local Health & Safety Manager to
ensure that you are adhering to your company’s safety
programs to prevent employee injury.
CAUTION Use of controls, adjustments, or the performance of
procedures other than those specified herein may result
in hazardous laser light exposure.
