Welcome Thank you for purchasing a Zencam camera! This user manual is designed to be a reference tool for the installation and operation of your IP camera. Here you can find information about the camera’s features and functions, as well as information to aid in troubleshooting. 3.Installation Handle the device with care. Do not apply power to the camera before completing installation. Do not place objects on top of the camera. 4.Repair Professionals All the examination and repair work should be done by qualified service engineers. We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or user attempted repair. 5.Environment The camera should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, flammable materials, explosive substances, etc.
● Network Access This camera provides wireless adaptivity to a numerous array of different router brands and types. A wired connection is not applicable with these devices. Once setup, the camera can be accessed remotely from a range of different platforms including, PCs, iPhones, iPads, Android tablets, and Android phones. ● Cloud Storage Functionality This camera can record video and audio streams to the Zencam Cloud. This feature enables long-term storage and accessibility of stored recordings.
2.1.1. Inserting a MicroSD Card Step 1: To access the micro SD card slot for your camera you will need to tilt the camera into the up position (90°). The slot will then be visible. Step 2: Please ensure the gold pins are face down when inserting the SD card into the camera. Step 3: Please firmly press the SD Card into the SD Card slot until it holds. The SD card will lock into place, this indicates that the SD is installed properly.
Ceiling Installation For instructions on how to mount your camera to a ceiling or other area that require the camera to be secured to a mounting surface, please refer to the instructions set provided below: The exact installation steps are shown as follows: Step 1: Drill holes on the proper installation surface according to the hole sites on the quick installation board. Step 2: Knock the expansion bolts provided in the kit into the drilled holes.
4. Zencam Security App Setup This section will provide the user with information on how to setup and access their device via the Zencam Security application. 4.1. Zencam Account Registration To begin adding your device to the Zencam Security app you must first register for a Zencam account. This can be completed via the Zencam Security app directly. For more information on how to register for a Zencam account, follow the steps provided below.
4. Enter the email address you would like to register for your account. Once you have entered a valid email address, tap on the Send verification code option to retrieve a verification code for your account. 5. Enter the verification code provided in your email and tap on the Next button to continue. Note: For security reasons, a verification code is required to proceed with the account registration process. You will have a limit of 120 seconds to enter in the verification code before it expires. 6.
4.2. Initial Setup When you have successfully registered for an account, you can now start adding cameras into the Zencam security application. Zencam cameras can only connect to a 2.4GHz network. Please make sure your phone is currently connected to a 2.4GHz network during initial setup of our camera. 4.2.1. Connecting Mobile Device to 2.4GHz Network App setup is directly related to which Wi-Fi network your mobile device is connected to during setup.
4.3. Adding a Camera Plug the camera into a wall socket or electrical source and allow the device to boot. Once the device has successfully connected to your WiFi network, the LED will change to a blinking green LED. You can now begin to add your camera to the Zencam Security application. Follow the step by step procedures below to begin setting up your camera. 1. Log into your Zencam account with your Zencam account credentials. 2. Tap on the +Add Device icon to begin adding the device to the app.
3. Scan the QR Code located on the device. If you are unable to scan the QR code, you can manually enter the serial number of the camera into the app by tapping on the Manually enter SN button. 4. Make sure the light on the front of the camera is blinking green, this will indicate the device is ready to be added to the Zencam Security app. Tap “Next” to continue. Note: Do NOT scan the QR code information directly from the box, it will not work.
7. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network. The password can be saved to the app by tapping the “Save Password” checkbox. Tap “Connect” to continue. 8. The LED on the front of the camera will turn solid green once connected to your Wi-Fi network. Tap “Next” to continue. If the camera does not connect, tap “Start Over” to try again. 9. Give your camera a name. Type in a name for your camera, a few examples are provided such as, bedroom, living room, or office. Tap “Save” to continue. 10.
11. The camera has now been successfully connected to your Zencam app. Tap on “Start Live View” to view your camera. 12. The live view menu will be the area to access the main features on the camera. 4.4. Zencam Security App Overview The Zencam app interface will be the main method of setting and controlling your camera below is an image of the Zencam Security app interface for your camera.
4.4.1. Live View Below is a description of the features listed in this menu: Device Settings: This menu allows users to access and modify settings related to their connected device. Multiview: This option allows users to view multiple devices or switch to single view. There is a maximum of four cameras that can be viewed at a given time. Talk: This feature allows the onboard microphone of the camera to be turned on or off. This is key for enabling two-way audio on your device.
4.4.2. Cloud Recordings Zencam offers a diverse solution for storing your recorded events, such as providing cloud-based storage options. If this is your first time setting up cloud storage on your Zencam camera, please follow the step by step guide provided to complete the process. 1. Please select "Cloud Recordings" from the main menu. If you are setting up a new cloud service, please click on the "Activate Cloud Storage" to continue. 2.
Note: If auto renew is selected, your subscription will be renewed every month unless you cancel it. Payment will automatically be taken two days before it is due. Please ensure that you have appropriate funds in your account before payment is due. 5. Once the payment credentials have been properly entered and the "Pay" button is selected, your transaction will then begin to process. 6.
This scroll bar shows you which recordings were saved on a specified day and allows you to navigate through the selected recordings. Above that, you will notice a selection which shows the date that you are pulling the recordings from. To view a cloud recording from a specific day, tap on this menu. When this option is selected you will be shown a calendar. When a recording is available, the calendar will denote a ( ) icon below the date.
Below is a description of the features listed in this menu: Allows the user to access cloud recordings in list format. Allows the user to access microSD recordings in list format. To view a recording in this menu, tap on the recording you want to access. The recording will load in the playback interface. Tap on the Play icon in the middle of the screen, or the icon located in the time bar. To scroll through the recording, use the included slide bar in the time bar.

Above that, you will notice a selection which shows the date that you are pulling the recordings from. To view a recording on a specific day, tap on this menu. When this option is selected you will be shown a calendar. When a recording is available, the calendar will denote a ( ) icon below the date.
Below is a description of the features listed in this menu: Allows the user to access cloud recordings in list format. Allows the user to access microSD recordings in list format. To view a recording in this menu, tap on the recording you want to access. The recording will load in the playback interface. Tap on the Play icon in the middle of the screen, or the icon located in the time bar. To scroll through the recording, use the included slide bar in the time bar.
The baby monitor interface will display 3 options for baby monitor mode: Off, Auto, and Always On. The "Off" mode will turn off baby monitor mode completely. The "Auto" mode will turn the baby monitor mode on but will only produce sound once the set sound threshold (squelch) is met. The Always On mode will have the camera produce sound even if the sound threshold is not met, however, it will not provide an alarm to your mobile device unless the alarm sound threshold is met.
The red "Alarm" line is the number of dBs needed for the camera to trigger an alarm/notification to your mobile device. Once the graph reaches above the alarm line an alarm/notification will be sent to your mobile device. This can be adjusted by sliding the red "Alarm" bar up or down the graph. Using the Always On Mode Tap on the Always On tab to access the Always On interface. Since the app will always be producing sound from the camera the gray "Squelch" line will not be available in this menu.
4.4.5. Using Pan/Tilt The pan/tilt function allows you to control the movement of your camera right from the Zencam Security app. To use your camera’s PT function, tap on the Pan/Tilt option located on the live view screen to display the PT controller. Use your finger to move the camera up, down, left, and right. 4.5. Device Settings The Device Information menu allows the user to adjust set and adjust device settings associated with the camera.
Here is a list of all the advanced configuration options for motion detection: • • • • • Motion Schedule: Modify motion detection recording timings. Motion Sensitivity: Select the current sensitivity for motion. Ranges between 1(MIN) and 6(MAX). Set Regions: Specify motion detection regions to reduce false alarms. Email Notifications: Enables motion notifications to be sent via email. Email Snapshots: Enables a snapshot of a motion detection event to be sent via email.
To begin setting a motion schedule, tap on the day of the week you wish to modify. If you are setting a schedule for multiple days of the week this can be done later in the interface. Tap on “Add Schedule”.
Tap on “Start Time” and use the scroll option to select a time you want the motion schedule to start. Note: In this example we will be setting the start time to 6am (0600). Tap on “End Time” and use the scroll option to select a time you want the motion schedule to stop. Note: In this example we will be setting the stop time to 5pm (1700). Tap on the back arrow ( ) to exit. Tap on “Repeat” to choose which days of the week you would like the motion schedule to apply.
4.5.2.2. Sensitivity This menu allows the user to adjust motion detection sensitivity associated with their camera. Motion sensitivity ranges from 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the max. By default, the camera will be set to 3 for optimal use. To change the motion sensitivity, select between 1 and 5 sensitivity ranges. Tap the save icon ( save the sensitivity setting for your camera. ) to 4.5.3.3.
Note: Setting a region is useful to eliminate false positive motion events. These include areas such as trees or other areas that are prone to create false positive events. Once your configuration has been successfully saved, tap on the back ( previous menu. ) icon to return to the 4.5.2.4. Email Notifications This toggle switch allows the user to authorize email notifications of motion detection events to be sent to an email address.
4.7. Time Zone This menu allows the user to modify or update time zone features related to your camera. To adjust the time zone for your camera, tap on the Time Zone field and select your time zone from the menu. If daylight savings time is applicable for your area and would like to enable this feature, toggle the DST switch to the On position. When you have finished setting your time zone settings, click on the Save icon to save and apply your settings. 4.8.
5. In the Add a Shared User menu, please enter a registered Zencam account email you would like to share your camera feed with. Once you have entered in the email address you would like to share your camera with, please press "OK" to continue. 6. Once you have pressed OK, you will be prompted as to whether you would like to still add the shared user to your device. If you would like to proceed with the process, please press "OK", if not there is also an option to cancel the process. Tap OK to continue.
Tap on the Firmware Update field to enter the firmware update menu. In the firmware update menu, you will notice the current version of firmware that is on your camera and the latest firmware that is available. To proceed with the firmware update, tap on the Update Firmware button below. You will then be prompted if you would like to proceed with the firmware update. To proceed, tap on Update Firmware. The new firmware will then begin to download onto your camera.
4.11.1. Hard Factory Reset To perform a hard factory reset, locate the Reset button on the back of the camera. Press and hold the Reset button until the camera begins to reset and release. When the green LED on the front of the camera starts flashing the camera will be ready to add to the new network. 4.12. Video Settings This menu allows the user quick access to their camera settings.
To setup email alerts, open the Email Alerts and choose your email provider from the dropdown list. In this case we will be using Gmail. Step 1: Please log into your camera via the Zencam Security app. Step 2: Once you are logged into your camera, please select the settings (gear wheel) icon in the upper right-hand corner. 3. In the settings menu, please tap on the "Email Alerts" tab at the bottom on the menu. 4.
5. Once the email provider is selected, the app will then automatically import the correct SMTP Server, port number and Authentication for your specific email provider. You will then input your email address in the "Username" field, your email address password in the "Password" field, and in the "Sender" field you will put your email address in as well. 6. Once this information is input into your app, we can then input the recipients.
Comcast has the SMTP server "smtp.comcast.net" (without quotes) and will use port 465 with SSL encryption, and port 587 with TLS encryption. Note: If your email service provider is not included in this list, you can simply Google the following and find the information you need: "*email provider* + SMTP + setup". Below is a description of the features listed in this menu: Use this option to add another device to your account. Use this toggle switch to enable or disable motion detection. Use this button as a quick reference to the Devices menu. Use this button to access security and system alerts. Use this button to access Zencam account information 4.15.1. Events The Events menu provides users quick access to their security and system alerts. 4.15.1.1.
Note: Without a storage option, such as a cloud account, or microSD card, the device will not be able to playback security alerts. To playback an event, tap on the event listed in the security alerts menu. You will be directed to a playback selection menu. This menu will feature a calendar where you can choose a specific date of an event (up to 7 days) or you can access the latest event.
Tap on the Play icon in the middle of the screen, or the icon located in the time bar. You can also zoom in on an object in the recording by tapping on the icon located in the playback screen. To scroll through the recording, use the included slide bar in the time bar. To listen to audio, click on the icon to enable audio. To view the recording in full screen mode, tap on the allows you to share the event. To share an event, tap on the icon. The app also icon located beneath the playback screen.
The user can view all transactions associated with cloud plans, any unpaid plans, paid plans, as well as any cancelled cloud plans. To exit this menu, tap on the ( ) or ( ) icons. 4.15.4. My Devices The My Devices menu allows users to view all connected devices associated with their Zencam account. To access the device information related to a connected device, tap on the device you would like to view. For more information on the device information menu, refer to section 4.5.1. Device Information.
4.15.6. My Saved Files The My Saved Files menu allows user to view snapshots and recordings that were directly taken from the device. These are different from downloaded events as they are directly retained from manual recordings that are made by the user. Below is a screenshot of this menu: At the top of the menu you will notice a selection bar. The ( video and the ( ) icon represents manually recorded ) icon represents snapshots. 4.15.6.1.

4.15.9. Support This menu provides users instant access to the products support page. On this page you can find informational articles and videos pertaining to your product. You can also visit zencam.com/support to visit this page directly. To exit this menu, tap on the ( ) or ( ) icons. 4.15.10. Leave Feedback This menu allows users to provide honest feedback regarding their Zencam experience. We take your feedback seriously.
4.15.17. Data Sharing This menu allows users to share data analytics related to their account. Data analytics will collect information that will help improve our products and enhance your experience with our service. To disable this feature, toggle the Share Data Analytics switch to the off position. 4.15.18. Log Out This option allows users to log out of their Zencam accounts. To log out of your Zencam account, tap Log Out and tap OK to exit. 5.
Inside this menu you will be prompted to begin adding a device using one of the following methods: serial number, or automatically by scanning your local network.
If you choose to add your camera manually, please enter the serial number of your camera, which is located on the serial number tag of the device, the username, and password for your camera. If this is your first time using your camera, the default username and password will be admin. Once your camera’s credentials have been entered, click on the Submit button to finish. If you choose to automatically scan your network for your device, click on Scan Network.
The software will then begin scanning your network for the device. Note: The scanner will pick up all IP devices associated with your local network. When the software has finished scanning your network, a list of connected devices will appear. If you have multiple Zencam devices you want to add to the desktop software, you can select the All option.
However, if you only want to add a specific device to the software, you can manually select each device from the list. After you have selected your devices, click on Add To Account. Once the device has been added onto your account, you will then need to provide the password associated with the device. Please remember, if this is your first time using your device, the default password will be admin.
When the password has been entered successfully, the software will prompt you that your device has been added to your desktop software. Click on Next when you are finished. The next screen will show you how many devices were successfully added. Click on OK to finish the process.
5.1.3. Basic Operation This section will highlight the various features and functionalities of the Zencam Desktop software once the camera has been added to the software. To begin, hover your mouse pointer over the desired camera. You will notice a Icon. Select the icon and a recording icon to access the live feed for your device. Once the icon has been selected you will notice your live feed will begin to play. In this menu on the bottom, center banner, you will notice a list of controls.
Below is a description of the controls listed: Snapshot: Click this button to take a snapshot of the live feed. The picture taken will be saved by default to the PC Files folder. Manual Record: Click this button to manually record live video. The video will be saved by default to the PC Files folder. Mic: Click this button to enable and control the microphone settings on your device. Speaker: Click this button to control the speaker volume on your device.
In the settings menu you will notice a list of options to choose from. Below is a description of each of these settings: Modify: Click the modify button to modify the nickname for your camera. Please note, the nickname for your device cannot exceed 20 characters. Storage Path: Click this button to set your device’s snapshot and recordings to a different path on your computer.
PC Files The PC Files menu allows the user to directly access all snapshot and event recordings that have been saved to their computer. These files are saved as per the path set by the user as referenced in section 5.1.3. Basic Operation.
Events The Events menu allows the user to access recorded motion events and system notifications provided by the system. The motion events are pulled from either the Zencam cloud (if initially set) and/or a microSD card. Each recording is specified by date and time and can be retrieved as such. Device Manager The Device Manager menu allows the user to access existing devices more efficiently and highlights which method of storage and recording preferences are set for the device.
Support The Support menu provides users direct access to the Zencam support website. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
