SYMPTOMS SOLUTIONS
Snowypicture and lousy sound. • Check your antenna connection or |ocaUon.
Multiple images or "ghost shadows_ • Check your antenna direction and/or Location.
• Make sure the wire from your antenna to your Entertainment Machine is
property connected.
Interference: Sharp Hnes across
the screenand lousy sound.
The[ollowingmay causeimageproblemsordistortion:
Electricalappliances,powerfullights, cars,trucks;Computersor portablephones;
Medical equipment
• It: possibleincreasethe distancebetweenyour EntertainmentMachine and
the offendingappEance.Orshut one of them off.
Normal picture but no sound.
• Check volume control.
• Make sure the TV is not Muted.
• Try another channel The problem may be the broadcast, not your
Entertainment Machine.
• Are the Audio A/V cables property instaUed?
• Are the wires for external speakers (if you have external speakers)
properly insta|led?
No picture and lousy sound.
• Are you in TVor Cabletuning mode(SeeAuto Programon page 9), and
shouldbe in the other?
• Makesureoutput channelson aUA/V equipment are onthe samechannel
(3 or 4).
• Checkthat all connectionsaretight.
No picture and no sound--
The thing is just DEAD!
• Is the ACpower pluggedin?
• Checkthat your ACpoweroutlet works.(Testit by pluggingin somethingelse
or try another plug.)
• Make sureyour brightnessand audio controlsareset property.
• Try anotherchannel. Theproblemmay be with the broadcast,not your
EntertainmentMachine.
No color, but the sound is O.K. * Checkthe color control in the Videomenu.
• Try anotherchannel.The problemmay be with the broadcast.
Picture has a big black box • The CC(closedcapUon)opUon maybe in Text mode. Select OFFin the
on it, but the sound ts O.K. CapUon/Text menu. See page 19.

• Yourprogramis in letterbox. This meansthat the shapeof your TVis
square,but the programis a rectangle. Think of the barsas empty spacethe
programdoesn'ttilt; not picturethat's blockedout. Becausethis format is a
directrepresentationof film asyou see it in the movies, you are actuallyseeing
MOREof the programwhenyou seethose bars.Trustus.
Remote control doesn't work. * Makesurethe batteriesare flesh and installed property.
• Checkto seethat the MBR(Multi BrandRemoteavailableon somemodels) is in
the right modefor your equipment.
Menu options won't change. • Try unpluggingthe TV,waiting aboutfive minutes, and then pluggingit backin
and trying again.
