Getting Started Installing the Nano-SIM Card and the microSDXC Card You do not need to power off your tablet before installing or replacing the nano-SIM card or before installing or removing the microSDXC card (not included). You need to unmount the microSDXC card before removing it (see Connecting to Networks and Devices – Using the microSDXC Card as Portable or Internal Storage). WARNING! To avoid damage to the tablet, please only use a standard nano-SIM card.
If the battery is low, there will be a pop-up message on the screen. As you charge your tablet, the screen will tell you the exact battery level each time you wake up your tablet. WARNING! Use only ZTE-approved chargers and cables. The use of unapproved accessories could damage your tablet or cause the battery to explode. Important: Do not change the built-in rechargeable battery in your device by yourself. The battery can only be changed by ZTE or ZTE authorized service provider. 1.
• • • • Reduce the screen backlight time. Lower the screen brightness. Turn auto-sync, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth off when not in use. Disable the GPS function when not in use. Most applications using this function will periodically query the GPS satellites for your current location; each query drains your battery. Powering Your Tablet On/Off • P ress and hold the Power/Lock key to power on your tablet. • To turn it off, press and hold the Power/Lock key to open the options menu. Tap Power off.
Locking/Unlocking the Screen and Keys Your tablet allows you to quickly lock the screen and keys (put the tablet into Sleep mode) when not in use and also to turn the screen back on and unlock it when you need it. Locking the Screen and Keys To quickly turn the screen off and lock the keys, press the Power/Lock key. Note: To save battery power, the tablet automatically turns off the screen after a certain period of time when you leave it idle.
• P ress and hold – To open the available options for an item (for example, a message or link in a web page), press and hold the item. • Swipe or slide – To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen. • Drag – To drag, press and hold your finger with some pressure before you start to move your finger. While dragging, do not release your finger until you have reached the target position.

Key Functions Key Function Press and hold to turn Airplane mode on or off, to restart, or to power off. Power/Lock key Press to change your tablet to Sleep mode. Press to wake up your tablet. Press to return to the home screen from any application or screen. Home key Press to access TV Mode from the home screen. Press and hold to access the Google app. Back key Press to go to the previous screen. Press to see recently used applications.
Getting to Know the Home Screen The home screen is the starting point for your tablet’s applications, functions, and menus. You can customize your home screen by adding shortcuts, folders, widgets, and more. Google search Status and notification bar Shortcut Widget Folder Primary shortcuts Extending the Home Screen The home screen can be extended beyond the screen width, giving you a lot more space to add more shortcuts and widgets. You can add or remove home screen panels or adjust their order.
Adding a New Home Screen Panel 1. From the home screen, press and hold an empty area of the home screen, and then tap Widgets. 2. Slide the home screen thumbnails left until you see on the screen. 3. Tap and a new home screen will be automatically added. Deleting a Home Screen Panel 1. Press and hold an empty area of the home screen, and then tap Home. 2. Slide the home screen thumbnails left or right. Tap on the top right corner of a thumbnail. 3. Tap OK. The items on the panel will also be removed.
Personalizing Changing the System Language 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Languages & input Languages. 2. To add a system language, tap Add a language and then tap the language you need. 3. Press and hold a language and move it to the top to switch to that language. Setting the Date and Time 1. From the home screen, tap Setting Date & time. 2. Set the date, time, time zone, and time format. • To adjust the date and time automatically, tap to toggle on Automatic date & time.
Changing Ringtone and Notification Sound You can customize the default phone ringtone, notification ringtone, and alarm ringtone. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Sound. 2. Tap Phone ringtone, Default notification ringtone, or Default alarm ringtone. 3. Select the ringtone you want to use. 4. Tap OK. Turning System Sounds On/Off 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Sound Other sounds. 2.
Switching to Silent or Vibration Mode You can set the tablet to silent or vibration mode using one of the following methods: • Press the Volume key when no media application is active to show the volume management window. Drag the slider to the left or press and hold the lower end of the Volume key to switch the tablet to vibration mode. Press down on the Volume key again in vibration mode to switch the tablet to silent mode.
• I f you have selected Scheduled, tap Days, Start time, and End time to specify the time periods during which Do not disturb mode is on. • Tap Disturb rules to choose whether you’d like to allow certain notifications or not. — – Priority only: Only notifications you have marked as priority are allowed. — – Alarms only: Only alarms are allowed. — – Total silence: No notifications are allowed.
Adding Cities 1. From the home screen, tap the weather widget Manage city. 2. Tap and enter the city name or tap an option from the Top cities list. 3. Tap the city you want from the list to add the city. Updating the Weather Widget The weather displayed on the widget will not automatically update. To manually update: From the home screen, tap on the weather widget. To automatically update: 1. From the home screen, tap the weather widget Settings. 2.
Note: In addition, from the home screen, you can tap Settings Display Wallpaper to pick an image from Photos or Wallpapers, or an animation from Live Wallpapers. Changing the Screen Brightness 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Display Brightness level. 2. Drag the slider to manually adjust the screen brightness. Notes: • With the proximity and light sensor, your tablet can automatically adjust the screen brightness for available light.
Protecting Your Tablet With Screen Locks You can protect your tablet by creating a screen lock. When enabled, you need to press and hold on the screen, and then draw a pattern or enter a numeric PIN or password to unlock the tablet’s screen and keys. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Security Screen lock. 2. Tap None, Long press, Pattern, PIN, or Password. • Tap None to disable screen lock protection. • Tap Long press to enable screen lock and allow unlocking with a “press and hold” gesture.
Protecting Your Tablet With Screen Pinning You can use the screen pinning feature to keep an app in view, so others cannot switch to other apps or access your personal information. Turning On Screen Pinning 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Security Screen pinning. 2. Tap the On/Off switch. 3. If you want to be asked for the unlock pattern, PIN or password before unpinning the screen, switch on Ask for unlock pattern/PIN/password before unpinning when the screen lock has been set.
Knowing the Basics Monitoring the Tablet Status The Status Bar at the top of the home screen provides phone and service status icons on the right side. Below are some of the icons you may see.
Managing Notifications The Status Bar at the top of the home screen provides notification icons on the left side. Below are some of the icons you may see.
Managing and Removing Notifications In the Notification Panel, you can respond to a notification or remove the notifications. The Notification Panel also supports expandable notifications that let you perform additional actions right from the notification itself. • To respond to a notification, tap it. • Slide down with one or two fingers to expand certain notifications. You can also pinch or spread two fingers on a notification to collapse or expand certain notifications.
• W i-Fi: Tap to turn Wi-Fi on or off. Press and hold to open the Wi-Fi menu. • Bluetooth: Tap to turn Bluetooth on or off. Press and hold to open the Bluetooth menu. • TV MODE: Tap to turn TV Mode on or off. Press and hold to open the TV mode menu. • Sound / Vibrate / Silent: Tap to switch among silent mode, vibrate mode, and sound mode. • Dolby On / Dolby Off: Tap to turn Dolby Audio™ on or off. Press and hold to open the Dolby Audio menu. • Location: Tap to turn location access on or off.
• D ata Saver: Tap to turn Data Saver mode on or off. This mode can help to reduce the tablet’s data usage. Press and hold to open the Data usage menu. • Night Light: Tap to turn Night Light mode on or off. This mode tints your screen amber, which makes it easier to look at your screen or read in dim light, and may help you fall asleep more easily. Press and hold to open the Night Light menu.
Moving Shortcuts and Widgets 1. Press and hold a shortcut or widget on the home screen. 2. Drag it to the place you need. Note: To move icons to another home screen panel, drag them to the right or left edge of the screen and release them when the display shows the adjacent panel. Removing Shortcuts and Widgets 1. Press and hold a shortcut or widget on the home screen. 2. Drag it to to remove it. Adjusting Widget Size 1. Press and hold a widget on the home screen and then release it. 2.
Rearranging the Primary Shortcuts The home screen includes a customizable primary shortcuts area at the bottom of all home screens. You can keep up to six items (in addition to Apps) in the primary shortcuts area. Drag shortcuts or folders in or out of the area as needed. Entering Text You can enter text using the on-screen keyboard. Some apps open it automatically. In others, you open it by tapping where you want to type. You can press the Back key to hide the on-screen keyboard.
Google Keyboard The Google Keyboard provides a layout similar to a desktop computer keyboard. Turn the tablet sideways and the keyboard will change from portrait to landscape. The landscape keyboard is not supported in all applications. • T ap the alphabetic keys to enter letters. Press and hold some specific keys to enter associated accented letters or numbers. For example, to enter È, press and hold and the available accented letters and number 3 appear. Then slide to choose È. • Tap to use uppercase.
Gesture Typing The Google Keyboard supports the gesture-typing feature. Use this feature to input a word by sliding from letter to letter on the keyboard. To enable and use gesture typing: 1. Press and hold on the Google Keyboard, and then tap Google Keyboard settings. 2. Tap Gesture typing Enable gesture typing if this feature is turned off. 3. On the Google Keyboard, slide your finger from letter to letter to trace a word without lifting your finger until you reach the end of the word.
1. Tap to access the voice-typing feature when you are using the Google Keyboard. -orTap Google voice typing when you are using other input methods. 2. When you see the microphone image, speak what you want to type. 3. Tap to delete recently entered text. TIP: Say “comma,” “period,” “question mark,” “exclamation mark,” or “exclamation point” to enter punctuation. TouchPal Keyboard TouchPal Keyboard offers three layouts: FULL, PHONEPAD, and T+. You can tap to select a layout or an input language.
• T he shift key: Tap to use uppercase. Double-tap to lock uppercase. This key also changes to indicate the current case you are using: for lowercase, for uppercase, and when locked in uppercase. • Word prediction: Press and hold or and tap the Prediction switch to turn prediction on or off. • Pre-defined texts: Tap to enter digits, symbols, and more. You can tap the arrow keys to turn pages, or tap to go back to the alphabetic keys. Slide up on the space key or tap to enter emoji and emoticons.
The T+ Layout If word prediction is disabled, tap to enter the left letter on the key; double-tap or flick right to enter the right letter/symbol on the key. You can also press and hold a key and slide left or right to choose more letters and symbols. If word prediction is enabled ( ), just tap the keys and choose the right word. Curve - Word Gesture Curve - Word gesture allows you to enter text by moving your finger on the screen from letter to letter to enter each word.
Start of the word End of the word Notes: • Curve - Word gesture is only available in the FULL layout. • Tap when you want to. If you want to enter a single letter, simply tap the key once. • Lift your finger at the end of the word. A space is added automatically when you begin to trace the next word. Wave - Sentence Gesture Wave - Sentence gesture allows you to enter words by dragging candidate words to the space key. To enable and use Wave - Sentence gesture: 1.
4. Drag the correct candidate word to the space key to add the word to the text field. If no candidate word is correct, you can type the word as you normally would. Note: Wave - Sentence gesture is only available in the FULL layout. Editing Text • M ove the insertion point: Tap where you want to type. The cursor blinks in the new position, and a tab appears below it. Drag the tab to move the cursor. • Select text: Press and hold or double-tap within the text.
Opening and Switching Apps Opening an App 1. From the home screen, tap 2. Tap an app to open it. . Switching Between Recently Opened Apps 1. Press the Recent apps key. A list of the names and thumbnails of apps you’ve recently used opens. If you’ve been using more apps recently than can fit on the screen, you can scroll the list up and down. 2. Tap a thumbnail to open that app. Notes: • You can swipe a thumbnail left or right or tap on the tab to remove it from the list.
Method Two: 1. Open the first app you want to use, and then press and hold the Recent apps key. 2. If the second app you want to use is in the recent apps list, tap its tab. If not, from the home screen, tap to find and open the app you need. To turn off split-screen mode, drag to the top or bottom of the screen.
Connecting to Networks and Devices Connecting to Mobile Networks Controlling Mobile Data Use To enable or disable data access: 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Mobile networks Mobile Networks. 2. Slide the Mobile Data switch to enable or disable mobile data use. To get data services when roaming: 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Mobile networks International Data Roaming. 2. Slide the Mobile Data switch to enable or disable roaming. Note: Data roaming may incur significant roaming charges.
4. Tap Save. Note: To reset to the default APN settings, tap default CONTINUE. Reset to Connecting to Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that can provide Internet access at distances of up to about 300 feet, depending on the Wi-Fi router and your surroundings. Turning Wi-Fi On and Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the switch to the On position. 3. Tap a network name to connect to it. 4.
Adding a Wi-Fi Network You can add a Wi-Fi network if the network does not broadcast its name (SSID) or when you are out of range. To connect to a secured network, you first need to get the security details from the network’s administrator. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the switch to the On position. 3. Tap Add network. 4. Enter the network SSID (name). If necessary, enter security or other network configuration details. 5. Tap SAVE.
3. Tap Advanced WPS Pin Entry. 4. The WPS PIN appears on the screen. Enter the PIN into the access point’s setup page. After you enter the PIN, your tablet automatically finds the access point and configures the connection. Note: For detailed information about the WPS feature of the access point, please refer to its documentation.
• MAC address: Check the MAC address. • IP address: Check the tablet’s IP address. • Install certificates: Install certificates needed for connecting to certain Wi-Fi networks. • Wi-Fi Direct: Use the Wi-Fi Direct™ feature. • WPS Push Button: Connect to a WPS network via the push button method. • WPS Pin Entry: Connect to a WPS network via the tablet PIN method. • Connect to AT&T Wi-Fi spot: Enable automatic connection to an available AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot.
2. Select the option for sharing via Wi-Fi Direct. The method may vary by application and data type. 3. Tap a device the tablet has connected with. Connecting to Bluetooth Devices Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Tablets or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of about 30 feet. The Bluetooth devices must be paired before the communication is performed. You can stream to two Bluetooth devices at once.
3. Tap the device you want to pair with. 4. Confirm that the Bluetooth passkeys are the same between the two devices and tap PAIR. Alternatively, enter a Bluetooth passkey and tap PAIR. Pairing is successfully completed when the other device accepts the connection or the same passkey is entered. Note: The Bluetooth passkey may be fixed for certain devices, such as headsets and hands-free car kits. You can try entering 0000 or 1234 (the most common passkeys), or refer to the documents for that device.
Receiving Data via Bluetooth 1. Turn Bluetooth on before trying to receive data via Bluetooth. Note: If the tablet has not been paired with the sending device, you may need to tap your tablet’s device name in the Bluetooth menu in Settings to keep the tablet detectable through Bluetooth. 2. Tap ACCEPT when the file sharing prompt appears, or swipe down on the status bar and tap ACCEPT.
Note: For Windows XP, please install the drivers and Windows Media® Player 11 (or later version) when you use Media device (MTP) for the first time. • Camera (PTP): Transfer photos using camera software. Note: To make your tablet connect to the computer automatically using the selected connection type, check Don’t ask me again. Connecting With Windows Media Player You can sync music with your tablet and your computer installed with Windows Media Player. 1.
You can also open the Notification Panel and tap the microSDXC card name, select Use as portable storage, and then tap NEXT DONE. Removing the microSDXC Card From Your Tablet (Portable) If you need to remove the microSDXC card used as portable storage while the tablet is on, you should unmount it first. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Storage. 2. Tap next to the card name in the Portable storage section. 3. When the screen prompts that the card is safely ejected, you can remove it from the tablet.
CAUTION: The formatting procedure erases all the data on the microSDXC card, after which the files CANNOT be retrieved. 4. The tablet will prompt you to move your photos, files and other data from the internal storage to the microSDXC card. Select Move now or Move later and tap NEXT. Follow the onscreen instructions to continue. CAUTION: As part of the internal storage, the microSDXC card may have data on it that is necessary for some apps to function normally.
ejecting the card, ensure that you have moved data and apps to the device storage. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Storage 2. Tap the card name in the Device storage section. 3. Tap Remove SD card EJECT. 4. When the screen prompts that the card is safely ejected, you can remove it from the tablet. Reformatting the microSDXC card as portable storage: If you no longer want to use your microSDXC card as internal storage, you can reformat the card as portable storage.
certificates before you can connect to your VPN. You can get this information from your network administrator. Note: You need to set a lock screen pattern, PIN, or password before you can use credential storage. Adding a VPN 1. From the home screen, tap Settings More VPN. 2. Tap . 3. Enter the VPN name, server address, and other information provided by your network administrator. 4. Tap SAVE. The VPN is added to the list on the VPN screen. Connecting to a VPN 1.
TV Mode With TV Mode, you can select an immersive entertainment experience and manage your favorite TV series and movies. Setting Up TV Mode 1. From the home screen, tap Settings TV mode. 2. If TV Mode is off, tap [off switch] to turn it on. 3. Tap the app you want TV Mode to launch. (If you don’t see the app you want, you may be able to download it from the Google Play™ Store.) Turning TV Mode On/Off 1. From the home screen, tap Settings TV mode. 2. Tap / to enable or disable it.
Adding and Switching Apps You can add other apps to TV Mode and switch between them. Note: If the app is not already on your tablet, you’ll need to download it from the Play Store first. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings TV mode Other available apps. 2. Enter the app name in the search field. 3. Tap the app you want. The next time you launch TV Mode, this app will be started. 4. To switch apps, swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen and tap the app you want DONE.
Phone Calls You can make voice or video calls from the tablet using your mobile phone number after you successfully log in to AT&T NumberSync, even if your mobile phone is powered off or isn’t with you nearby. Calls to your mobile phone will also ring on your tablet. Logging in to AT&T NumberSync 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap Ok. 3. If you already have an AT&T NumberSync account, continue to step 7. If you do not have an account, tap Register to create one. 4.
• Tap Verify Address the address OK Save. Note: When roaming, you will be notified at login that 911 emergency calls cannot be made outside of the United States. 9. Tap the default device name if you would like to change it, and then tap Complete Setup. Note: Once logged in, your mobile phone number will be shown at the top right of the screen. Placing and Ending Calls Placing a Call 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap . 3. Enter the phone number with the on-screen keypad.
Ending a Call During a call, tap end the call. (using mobile data) or (using Wi-Fi) to Video Calling Your tablet allows you to make and receive video calls. Your smartphone must be video call–capable to make and receive video calls on your secondary device using NumberSync. You must enable Video call in the Phone settings before you can place or receive video calls. (See Phone Calls – Adjusting Your Call Settings – Turning Video Calling On or Off.) Placing a Video Call 1. From the home screen, tap . 2.
To answer or reject a video call: • Tap to accept the call as a voice call. • Tap to answer the video call. • Tap to reject the call. Working With the Call Log The call log is a list of all the calls you've placed, received, or missed. It provides a convenient way to redial a number, return a call, or add a number to your Contacts. To open the call log, tap the Home key . Placing a Call From the Call Log 1. Open the call log. 2. Tap a name or number in the Calls list for details. 3.
2. Press and hold a number in the Calls list. 3. Tap Delete all calls from this number. Calling Your Contacts 1. From the home screen, tap 2. Tap a contact. 3. Tap an option to select it. Voice Call Options • T ap to make another call separately from the first call, which is put on hold.
Video Call Options During a video call, tap the screen to see options. • Tap to make another call separately from the first call, which is put on hold. • Tap (using mobile data) or (using Wi-Fi) to end the current call. • Tap to hide/show your image or switch to voice call. • Tap to hold the current call. • Tap to mute or unmute your microphone. • Tap to switch between front and back camera. WARNING! Because of higher volume levels, do not place the tablet near your ear during speakerphone use.
• Tap Accept as voice call to answer as a voice call. • Tap to reject the second call. To respond to an incoming call while you’re on a video call: • Tap Accept as video call to answer the incoming call as a video call. • Tap Accept as voice call to answer the incoming call as a voice call. • Tap to reject the second call. To switch between two calls: Tap . Setting Up a Conference Call With this feature, you can talk to two people at the same time. 1. Place the first call. 2.
Adjusting Your Call Settings Setting Your Device Name You can edit the device name displayed in the My Devices menu. 1. From the home screen, tap My Devices. 2. Tap and edit the device name. 3. Tap Save. Changing the E911 Address You can edit or add your emergency 911 address. Contacts You can add contacts on your tablet and synchronize them with the contacts in your Google account or other accounts that support contact syncing. From the home screen, tap Contacts. From there, you can tap the tabs on the top of the screen to quickly switch to contact groups or favorite contacts. Checking Contact Details 1. From the home screen, tap Contacts CONTACTS. 2. Scroll through the list to view all your contacts. 3. Tap a contact to view its details.
Setting Up Your Own Profile You can create your own name card in your tablet. 1. From the home screen, tap Contacts CONTACTS. 2. Tap My Info . 3. Edit your profile information. Tap More Fields to add more information if desired. 4. Tap to save. Importing, Exporting, and Sharing Contacts You can import/export contacts from/to your nano-SIM card, the tablet storage, or the microSDXC card. This is especially useful when you need to transfer contacts between different devices.

Linking Contacts As your tablet synchronizes with multiple online accounts, you may see duplicate entries for the same contact.
Notes: • The information from the second contact is added to the first, and the second contact is no longer displayed in the Contacts list. • You can repeat these steps to join another contact to the main contact. Unlinking Contact Information If contact information from different sources was joined in error, you can separate the information back into individual contacts on your tablet. 1. Accounts Adding or Removing Accounts You can add multiple Google accounts and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® accounts. You may also add other kinds of accounts, depending on the apps installed on your tablet. Adding an Account 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Accounts Add account. 2. Tap the type of account you want to add. 3. Follow the on-screen steps to enter the information about the account. Most accounts require a user name and password, but the details may vary.
Configuring Account Sync Configuring Auto-sync Settings 1. Swipe down on the Notification Panel with two fingers to open the Quick Settings menu. 2. Tap Sync to enable or disable the auto-sync feature. • When automatic sync is turned on, changes you make to information on your tablet or on the web are automatically synced with each other. • When automatic sync is turned off, you need to sync manually to collect emails, updates, or other recent information. Email From the home screen, tap . Use it to read and send emails from Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo!®, and others. Setting Up the First Email Account 1. When you open Email for the first time, tap an email type and then enter your email address and password. 2. Tap NEXT to let the tablet retrieve the network parameters automatically. Browser Use Browser to view web pages and search for information. Opening the Browser To open Browser, from the home screen, tap . If Browser was recently used, the last web page you were viewing is displayed. If you have not used Browser recently, your home page opens. Browser also opens when you tap a web link – for example, in an email or a text message. 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap the address box at the top of the web page. 3.
Switching Between Tabs 1. Tap (the number shows how many tabs you have open). 2. Swipe vertically to scroll through the list of opened web pages, and tap the one you want to view. 3. Tap the thumbnail of the tab you want to open. Note: Tap or swipe left or right to close a tab. Downloading Files Press and hold an image or a link to a file or to another web page. In the menu that opens, tap Save image or Save link. The downloaded files are saved to your tablet or the memory card.
Camera You can take photos and record videos. Photos and videos are stored to the tablet’s memory card or to the tablet’s internal storage. Capturing a Photo 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Aim the camera at the subject and make any necessary adjustments. AUTO camera mode is used by default. 3. Tap the area on the screen where you want the camera to focus, or let the camera autofocus on the center of the image. 4. Tap .

Using Other Camera Modes Besides capturing photos and videos in the traditional way, your Camera app offers other creative and entertaining camera modes. Switch to the rear-facing camera and tap CREATIVE to find them all. • SPECIAL EFFECT: Apply warm, cool, sepia, fisheye, or other special effects to the photo. • HDR: Turn on the HDR feature. • PANORAMA: Capture panorama pictures. • SMILE: Capture pictures automatically when a smile is detected.
• G eo-tagging: Select whether to store the GPS location in your captured photos. • Review: Select whether or not to review pictures immediately after they are taken, and for how long. • Storage location: Tap Save location to change the storage location for captured photos. • Restore defaults: Restore default camera settings. VIDEO • V ideo quality: Set the quality for your video. • Time lapse: Set the time interval between each frame when recording videos using the rear-facing camera.
Music From the home screen, tap Music to play audio files stored on your tablet. Music supports a wide variety of audio formats, so it can play music you purchase from online stores, music you copy from your CD collection, and more. Copying Music Files to Your Tablet Before using Music, you need to copy or download audio files to your tablet. Copying From a Computer 1. Connect your tablet and the computer with a USB cable. 2.
Receiving via Wi-Fi Direct You can receive music files from other devices via Wi-Fi Direct (see Connecting to Networks and Devices – Connecting to Wi-Fi – Using Wi-Fi Direct). Viewing Your Music Library From the home screen, tap Music, and your music library is displayed. All your audio files are cataloged according to the information stored in the files. • Tap All Songs to view all music files on your tablet. • Tap Favorites to browse music files you have marked as favorites.

Video Player Use the Video Player to manage your video library and to watch videos. Opening the Video Library From the home screen, tap Video Player to view your video library. Swipe up or down to find the video you want. You can also tap to search for video files, or tap View by or Sort by to change the display mode or sort the list. Playing and Controlling Videos Tap a video in the video library to play it. Tap the screen to show the playback controls.

Drag the two tabs on the progress bar to select the portion you want to keep. You can tap to preview the selected portion. 4. Once the preview ends, tap .
FM Radio With the FM Radio app, you can search for radio channels, listen to them, and save them on your tablet. The quality of the radio broadcast depends on the coverage of the radio station in your area. The wired headset works as an antenna, so always connect the headset while using the radio. Scanning and Saving Channels 1. Plug in a wired headset. From the home screen, tap FM Radio. 2. Tap Scan OK. Your tablet scans for all available channels and saves them to the All channels list.

More Apps Calculator From the home screen, tap Calculator to use the tablet’s convenient built-in calculator for some basic as well as advanced mathematical equations. Clock From the home screen, tap Clock. The Clock app allows you to check local time in places around the world, set alarms, and use timers. Setting a New Alarm 1. Open the Clock app and tap . 2. Tap a default alarm to configure it, or tap at the bottom of the screen to create a new alarm. 3.
Using World Time 1. Open the Clock app and tap . 2. World time lets you check local times for cities around the world. Tap to add a new city. Using Stopwatch and Countdown 1. Open the Clock app and tap or . 2. Stopwatch allows you to record lap times, while countdown allows you to set a time and count down to zero. Downloads The Downloads app keeps a record of the files you have downloaded using apps such as Browser and Email. From the home screen, tap Downloads.

To play a memo you just recorded: 1. Tap at the top right of the screen to see all recordings. 2. Tap the title of a memo to play it. Note: You can also tap to delete, share, rename, tag, trim, check file information, or set as notification ringtone. Google Apps Open the Google apps to use Google services. Some apps are put in the Google folder on the home screen. Note: Some content or Google services may not be available in your region.

Settings From the home screen, tap Settings. Settings contains most of the tools for customizing and configuring your device. Wireless & Networks Wi-Fi Turn Wi-Fi on or off and configure your Wi-Fi connections (see Connecting to Networks and Devices – Connecting to Wi-Fi). When Wi-Fi is on, tap Advanced Wi-Fi Direct in the Wi-Fi menu to share data between two devices via Wi-Fi (see Connecting to Networks and Devices – Connecting to Wi-Fi – Using Wi-Fi Direct).
Notes: • The data usage is measured by your tablet, and your carrier’s data usage accounting may differ. • Tap Network restrictions to select Wi-Fi networks that are mobile hotspots. Data usage on recognized mobile hotspots will be restricted to avoid high mobile data bills. Airplane Mode In the Settings app, tap More Airplane mode to turn Airplane mode on or off. When Airplane mode is on, Wi-Fi and cellular connections are turned off.
Quick Launch Key Press the Quick Launch key for quick access to a selected app. Follow these steps to change the selected app: 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Quick Launch key. 2. Tap the app you need. Display • B rightness level: Set the brightness of the display. • Adaptive brightness: Automatically adjust screen brightness. • Night Light: Night Light tints your screen amber. This makes it easier to look at your screen or read in dim light, and may help you fall asleep more easily.
• C ast: Cast allows your tablet to connect and project to Wi-Fi– capable display screens. • Pulse notification light: The indicator flashes to notify you of missed calls, new messages, and other events. Notifications Control the display of notifications. • Tap On the lock screen to enable/disable notification display on the lock screen. • Tap an app to control its notifications.
Apps See apps installed on your tablet and manage them. Tap an app to see its information. The following options may be available: • FORCE STOP: Stop the app. • UNINSTALL: Uninstall the app. • DISABLE/ENABLE: Disable or enable the app. • Storage: Check its storage information, and clear its data or cache. • Data usage: Check data used by the app during a specified time cycle, and change background data restriction settings. • Permissions: Check or change the app permissions.
• S ave location: Select Tablet or SD card to select the default location for new data, such as files downloaded, photos captured, and audio clips recorded. • Device storage: You can install apps into the internal storage.
You can share your tablet with other people by creating additional user accounts. Each user account has its own storage space, wallpaper, screen lock, and so on. User accounts can also adjust device settings, such as Wi-Fi, that affect all users, and they can update apps for all other users. By default, a Guest account is available for anyone who needs to use your tablet temporarily. You can tap Add user or profile to create more user accounts.
• B attery saving: Use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile networks to get your approximate location. This will drain less power from your battery than using GPS in High accuracy mode. • Device only: Use GPS to pinpoint your location. Security • S creen lock: Lock the screen with long press, pattern, PIN, or password (see Personalizing – Protecting Your Tablet With Screen Locks), or select None to disable the screen lock.
• D evice administrators: View or deactivate apps you have authorized to be device administrators. • Unknown sources: Permit installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store. • Storage type: Check the credential storage type. • Trusted credentials: Display trusted CA certificates. • User credentials: View and modify stored credentials. • Install from SD card: Install certificates from storage. • Clear credentials: Delete all certificates. • Trust agents: View or deactivate trust agents.
• S pell checker: Enable Google Spell Checker to check for spelling errors when entering text, and change its settings. • Personal dictionary: Add new words to the tablet’s dictionary or remove words from the dictionary. The words you add are used for spelling check and word suggestion. • Virtual keyboard: Choose your preferred virtual keyboard. • Physical keyboard –— Show virtual keyboard: Keep the virtual keyboard on screen while a physical keyboard accessory is active.
Backup & Reset Manage data backup and restoration options, restore app settings, or reset the tablet to factory status. • Back up my data: Back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers after you sign in to your Google account. • Backup account: Set the Google account that data is backed up to. • Automatic restore: Restore previously backed up settings and data when you reinstall an app. • Factory data reset: Reset your tablet to factory default settings.
AT&T Software Update Check for available software updates for your device. About Tablet View tablet status, legal information, and other information. You can also tap Additional system updates Storage card updates to install updates from update packages copied to the storage card.
