Starting up How to slot your SIM/memory card Power off your Reliance 3G Tab before installing or replacing the battery, SIM card, or memory card. 1. Remove the back cover.

How to pop in your battery 1. Insert the battery with the contacts located against the gold springs. 2. Push the battery down into place.
How to charge your Reliance 3G Tab The new battery is not fully charged. To charge the battery, you need to: 1. Connect the adapter to the charger jack. 2. Connect the charger to a standard AC wall outlet. Notes: f If the battery is low, there will be a pop-up message on the screen and the indicator light will be red.
Indicator color Battery level Red Battery is very low. Orange Battery is low. Green Battery is full or partially drained. If the device is powered on and the battery is charging, the icon will appear on the status bar. When charging is completed, the battery indicator appears on the status bar. 3. Disconnect the charger when the battery is fully charged. f Powering On/Off Your Device How to power on your device 1. Make sure your SIM card and the battery are inserted. 2.
To power off your device, press and hold the Power Key to get the phone options, select Power off, and then tap OK. How to switch your device to sleep mode Press the Power Key. Sleep Mode suspends your device to a low-power-consumption state while the display is off to save battery power. Your device also goes into Sleep Mode automatically when you leave it idle after a certain period of time. How to wake up your device from sleep mode If your device is switched to sleep mode, you need to wake it up: 1.
Notes: If you have set an unlock pattern for your device (refer to Settings -> Location & security -> Set up screen lock -> Pattern), you need to draw the pattern to unlock your screen.
Getting Around Your Device Using Finger Gestures You can use finger gestures to control your device. The controls on your touch screen change dynamically depending on the tasks you are performing. 1. Tap the buttons, icons, or applications to select items or to open applications. 2. Hold a certain item to get available options. 3. Slide on the screen, you can scroll up/down. From Home Screen, you can also slide left/right to browse the extended Home Screen. 4.

How to open the notification panel From the Notifications Panel, you can get the information of calendar events, new messages, and ongoing settings such as call forwarding or the current call status. Language & keyboard Enables you to set the locale (operating system language and region) and text input options. Voice input & output Enables you to configure the text-to-speech settings if you have installed a text-to-speech (voice data) application. Accessibility Enables you to manage accessibility options.
How to open recently used applications 1. Tap and hold the Home Key from any screen until the following recently used applications interface appears. 2. Tap the application you want to open.
Phone Calls Making a Call Making a Call from Dialer 1. Tap from the Home Screen. 2. Enter the phone number you want to call. Tap to erase the wrong entry, hold this key to clear all digits. Your to device automatically lists the matching contacts. You can tap hide the keypad and to see if there are more matching numbers or contacts. . 3. Tap Making a Call from Contacts 1. Making a Call from a Text Message If a text message contains a phone number that you want to call, you can make the call while viewing the text message. 1. Tap the Home Key > and tap the message conversation you need. 2. Tap the message you need in the conversation. 3. Select the number and tap . Making an Emergency Call 1. Enter the emergency number for your location from Dialer. 2. Tap . Notes: It is possible to dial emergency numbers when the SIM card is not inserted.
Making an International Call Notes: This function is subject to your service operator and the network status. 1. Tap and hold from the dialer to enter “+”. 2. Enter the full phone number. For example: +49-123-12345678 in the following format: + country code-area code-phone number. 3. Tap . Receiving a Call Answering an Incoming Call When there is an incoming call, the Reliance 3G Tab will display the information on the screen. Drag to the right to answer the call.

Fixed Dialing Numbers Enables you to restrict outgoing calls to a fixed set of numbers. To enable this feature you must know your SIM card’s PIN2 code. Voicemail service Enables you to select a voicemail service provider. Voicemail settings Enables you to specify a voicemail number.
Call forwarding Additional settings Call Barring Settings Enables you to forward incoming calls to a different number. You can select when to forward: Always forward, Forward when busy, Forward when unanswered, or Forward when unreachable. Caller ID Enables you to choose whether to display your number in outgoing calls. Call waiting Enables you to choose whether to be notified of new incoming calls while you are already on a call. Enable or disable receipt of cell broadcast messages.
Contacts Starting to use Contacts You can add new contacts along with their information. Setting up communication information for the contact will allow you to call the person quickly or browse the contact's information. Contacts are saved in the internal memory or in the SIM card. If you store the information in the SIM card, you can fill the name and a number.
Managing Contacts Importing/Exporting Contacts You can import/export contacts from/to you SIM card or microSD card. Import/export contacts from/to SIM card 1. Tap the Menu Key > Import/Export from the Contacts Screen. 2. Select to import or export contacts from/to your SIM card. Your Reliance 3G Tab will automatically read the contacts.
3. Select the contacts you want to import/export. Tips: f If you want to import/export all contacts, tap the Menu Key > Select all. 4. Tap Done. Import/export contacts from/to memory card 1. Tap the Menu Key > Import/Export from the Contacts Screen. 2. Select to import or export contacts from/to microSD card. If you want to import contacts from microSD card, you should have vCard files saved in the microSD card. If there is more than one vCard file, you need to select the vCard file. 3. Tap OK.

Editing a Contact 1. Select the contact you want to edit from the Contacts Screen. 2. Tap Edit contact. Tips: You can also edit a contact by holding it in the Contacts Screen and select Edit contact from the pop-up shortcut menu. 3. Edit the contact and tap Done. Deleting a Contact 1. Select the contact you want to delete from the Contacts Screen. 2. Tap (Delete contact). Tips: You can also delete a contact by holding it in the Contacts Screen and select Delete contact from the pop-up shortcut menu. 3.
Entering Text Using the On-screen Keyboard When you enter a field that needs text or numbers, hold the input box and select Input method from the pop-up menu to change input method. Android Keyboard Android Keyboard is a keyboard layout similar to a desktop computer keyboard. You can choose to use the landscape orientation of the on-screen keyboard, by turning the Reliance 3G Tab sideways.
Tips: • If you want to use the landscape keyboard, you need to select the Auto-rotate screen check box in Settings > Display.
XT9 Text Input XT9 Text Input can speed up text input by replacing the letter tapping/typing motion of input with a tracing gesture where you move your finger from letter to letter without lifting the finger until you reach the end of the word. You can select to use one of the three layouts (Keyboard, Reduced keyboard, Phone keypad) of XT9 Text lnput Keyboard.

• Using the tool bar Entering Text through the On-screen Keyboard 1. Enter a field that needs text or numbers. 2. Tap or hold the letters on the keyboard to enter your text. Entering Numbers or Symbols 1. Enter a field that needs text or numbers. 2. Tap / to open the number panel.
3. Select the numbers or symbols. Touch Input Settings You can configure the touch input settings by tapping the Menu Key > Settings > Language & keyboard from Home Screen. Select language Select the language you used. Android keyboard • Vibrate on keypress: Enables vibration feedback as you touch on the keyboard. • Sound on keypress: Enables the sound feedback as you touch on the keyboard. • Auto-capitalization: Select the check box to capitalize the fist letter of each sentence automatically.
XT9 Text Input • Languages and settings: Select input languages. Tap a language to set up keyboard layout, word suggestion settings, key input settings, and trace input settings. • Preferences: Set up keypress vibration, keypress sound, auto-capitalization, and auto-punctuation. • About: View the XT9 version information.
Messages Messaging is where all of your SMS and MMS accounts are located. To access your message accounts, tap the Home Key > > Messages. Exchanging Messages From Messages, you can receive and send an SMS or MMS. When you receive a new message, you can open it from the Notifications Panel, or from Messages Screen. Simply tap on the new message to read it. The device will alert you for the unread message(s). Composing an SMS 1. Tap the Home Key > 2. Tap New message. .
3. Tap To field and enter the recipient’s number. In Android keyboard input method, you can also enter the first letter of the recipient; the contact which matches the first letter of the recipient name is listed, and then you can select a recipient from the list. 4. Tap Type to compose field and enter the message. 5. Tap Send to send your SMS. Composing an MMS 1. Tap the Home Key > . 2. Tap New message. 3. Tap To field and enter the recipient’s number.
Pictures: Select a picture to add to your MMS. Capture picture: Take a photo and add to your MMS. Videos: Select a video clip to attach to your MMS. Capture video: Shoot a video clip and add to your MMS. Audio: Select an audio file to add to your MMS. Record audio: Record an audio file and add to your MMS. Slideshow: Edit a sildeshow and add to your MMS. 7. Tap Send to send your MMS. Tips: • If you add a subject or an attachment to your SMS, the SMS will be converted to an MMS automatically.
Managing Messages and Messages Threads SMS and MMS messages which are sent to and received are grouped into message threads in the Messages screen. Threaded messages show you exchanged messages (similar to a chat program) with a specific contact on the screen. Message threads are sorted by the time when you received them, with the latest one on the top. Reply to a message 1. Tap the message you want to reply to from the Messages Screen. 2. Tap Type to compose and enter the contents of your message. 3.
Notes: You can also delete a message or thread by opening it from the Messaging Screen and tapping the Menu Key > Delete. Message Settings Tap the Menu Key > Settings from the Messages Screen. You can configure your message settings. Storage settings • Delete old messages: Select to delete old messages as limits are reached. • Text message limit: Set the maximum number of text messages allowed in a single thread.
• Manage SIM card messages: Manage messages stored on your SIM card. • SMS validity: Set a period time of SMS validity. • SMS priority: Set the priority for SMS. • Service Center: Enables you to view and edit the service center. Multimedia message (MMS) settings • Delivery reports: Request a delivery report for each MMS message you send. • Read reports: Request a read report for each MMS message you send. • Auto-retrieve: Select to retrieve MMS messages automatically.
• • Select ringtone: Select a ringtone for your incoming messages. Vibrate: Select to make your Reliance 3G Tab vibrate when receiving a new message. Signature settings • Edit signature: Edit your signature. • Add signature: Create a new signature. Using Email Tap the Home Key > . You can enter the Email Screen to setup your Email account and exchange Emails. Creating an Email account 1. Enter your Email address and password, then tap Next when you enter the Email Screen for the first time.
2. Select the type of your account and tap Next. 3. Edit the incoming server settings and then tap Next/Next [Check]. If you tap Next [Check], your device will check the incoming server settings and finish the setup automatically. If you are notified that setup could not be finished, you might need to correct some settings to finish it.

Getting Connected Connecting to the Internet Your device’s networking capabilities allow you to access the Internet or your corporate network. Ways of Connecting to the Internet You can use the default connection settings to connect to the Internet through your mobile network (GPRS/3G/EDGE), or Wi-Fi. GPRS/3G/EDGE Use GPRS/3G/EDGE to connect to the Internet and to send and receive MMS/Email messages on your Reliance 3G Tab.
Add a new GPRS/3G/EDGE connection Before you begin, get the following information from your service provider: • Access Point Name (APN) • Your user name and password if needed. • Server IP and the port number if the network uses a proxy server. 1. Tap the Home Key > > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names. 2. Tap the Menu Key > New APN. 3. Tap Name to enter you APN name (You can name it as you like). 4. Tap APN to enter the APN you want to add. 5.

Download applications from web pages 1. Open a web page that contains an application link. 2. Tap the link or hold on the link and select Save link to download the application to your Reliance 3G Tab. Notes: Downloaded applications are saved in your microSD card. Using Bookmarks You can save your frequently-used pages as bookmarks on your Reliance 3G Tab. Add a new bookmark 1. 2. 3. 4. Open a web page. Tap the Menu Key > Bookmarks. Tap Add. Enter a name of the bookmark and tap OK.

• Show security warnings: Select to show warnings if there is a problem with a site’s security. Advanced settings • Website settings: View advanced settings for individual websites. Only available for some websites. • Reset to default: Clear all browser data and reset all settings to default. Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Wireless devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information within a distance of about 10 meters without any physical connection.
2. Select the Bluetooth check box to turn Bluetooth on. The icon will be displayed in the status bar. If you want to turn Bluetooth off, clear the Bluetooth check box. Notes: By default, Bluetooth is turned off. If you turn it on, and then turn off your device, Bluetooth is also turned off. When you turn on your device again, Bluetooth turns on automatically.
Change your device name 1. Tap the Home Key > > Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings. 2. Select the Bluetooth check box if needed. 3. Tap Device name. 4. Enter the name and tap OK. Pair with another Bluetooth device You can pair your device with another device that has Bluetooth capabilities. Once you do this, the two devices must have Bluetooth turned on but do not need to be visible for you to exchange information between them. > Settings > Wireless & networks > 1.

Experiencing Multimedia Camera Your Reliance 3G Tab comes with cameras that let you capture sharp pictures. Opening Camera Tap the Home Key > > Camera to open the camera. You can switch the camera between front and back. Notes: You can switch from the camera to the camcorder quickly: Drag the switch up/right.
Taking Pictures Aim the camera at the subject and then tap to take the shot. f Tap the picture at the bottom of right corner (portrait mode) of your Camera Screen to view the picture just captured. f Tap the Menu Key > Gallery to view all of your pictures. Camera Settings Tap in the camera screen to adjust the camera settings. • Exposure: Tap to adjust the exposure in the range of +2 to -2. • Picture size: Tap to select the size (in pixels) of your captured pictures.
• Anti Banding: Select to adjust preview images automatically or for specified AC frequencies, in order to avoid striate previews caused by interference. • Saturation: Tap to adjust the saturation. • Contrast: Tap to adjust the contrast. Higher contrast ratio enables you to easily see the sharp colors of blue, red or green against any black color. • Sharpness: Tap to adjust the saturation. • Camera settings: Restore the camera settings to default. Tap to select to record location in picture data.
The settings for front and back camera may differ accordingly. Camcorder Camcorder enables you to shoot video clips. Opening Camcorder Tap the Home Key > > Camcorder to open the camcorder. Notes: You can switch from the camcorder to the camera quickly: f Drag the switch down/left. Shooting Videos 1. Tap to start shooting. 2. Tap to stop shooting.

FM Radio With the FM Radio, you can search for radio channels, listen to them, and save them on your device. Note that the quality of the radio broadcast depends on the coverage of the radio station in that particular area. The wired headset works as an antenna, so always connect the headset when using the radio. When you receive an incoming call while listening to the radio, the radio will be turned off during the call.

Creating Playlists You can create some playlists to organize your music files. 1. Select a music file you want to add to a new playlist. 2. Tap and hold on the file until a shortcut menu pops up. 3. Tap Add to playlist. 4. Tap New. 5. Enter the playlist name and tap Save. The playlist is created and the file you selected is added to the playlist. Managing Your Playlists 1. Tap Playlists from the Music Screen to view all playlists. 2.

Videos You can use Videos to play your video files. Opening Videos Tap the Home Key > > Videos to open the video player. Your device will show you all video files saved on your memory card. Playing Videos Copy the video file to your memory card before playing it. 1. Tap the video file you want to play from the Videos Screen. 2. Tap on the screen to show the control bar. You can pause, rewind, fast forward, or jump to any part of the video with the time bar.

Google Applications Signing In to Your Google Account Signing in to your Google Account enables you to synchronize Gmail, Calendar, web album, and contacts between your device and the web. 1. Tap a Google application, such as Talk. 2. Read the instructions and tap Next. 3. Tap Sign in if you have a Google account. Enter your user name and password, and then tap Sign in. Tap Create if you do not have a Google account. Using Gmail Gmail is Google’s web-based email service.
Open Gmail Tap the Home Key > > Gmail. Creating and sending an gmail 1. In the Inbox, press the Menu Key and then tap Compose. 2. Enter the message recipient’s email address in the To field. If you are sending the email to several recipients, separate the email addresses with a comma. You can add as many message recipients as you want. 3. Enter the email subject, and then compose your email. 4. After composing your email, tap the Menu Key > Send.

Viewing and accepting an invitation 1. In the Friends list, press the Menu Key > Invites. All chat invitations you have sent or received are listed on the pending invitations screen. 2. Tap a received pending invitation, and then tap Accept or Decline. Starting a chat 1. Tap a friend in the Friends list. 2. Chat with your friend by entering text using the on-screen keyboard. 3. After entering your message, tap Send.

Sound Settings By tapping the Home Key > Menu Key > Settings > Sound, you can configure the sound settings, such as ringtones and notifications. Set the ringtone 1.
