Using This Guide Using This Guide This Get Started guide is designed to help you set up and use your new Sprint LivePro. It’s divided into four sections to help you find the information you need quickly and easily. Get Ready − page 5 − Find out what you need to do before you use your Sprint LivePro the first time, including setting up the device and activating Sprint service.

Charge the Battery Turn Your Device On 1. Plug the AC adapter into the power socket on your device. 2. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. Fully charging a battery may take up to three hours. 1. Press and hold the Power Button. 2. When you feel a slight vibration, release the Power Button. Get Ready Set Up Your Device Turn Your Device Off 1.
Set Up Your Device Turn the Screen On and Off Unlock the Screen Your device allows you to quickly turn the screen off when not in use and to turn it back on and unlock it when you need it. • Touch and hold the lock icon to unlock the screen. Turn the Screen Off When Not in Use • Touch to quickly turn the screen on or off. • To save battery power, the device automatically turns the screen off after a certain period of time (2 min. by default) when you leave it idle.
If you purchased your device at a Sprint Store, it is probably activated. If you received your device in the mail, and it is a new Sprint account, your device is designed to activate automatically. When you turn the device on for the first time, you should see a Hands-FreeActivation screen, which may be followed by a PRL Update screen and a Firmware Update screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to continue.
Device Basics: Touchscreen Home Screen • Touch the Home Key to display your Home screen.
Touchscreen There are a total of five home screens available, two on each side of the main Home screen. • To view additional screens, swipe your finger left or right across the screen. • To return to the main Home screen, . touch Home The Notifications Bar The notifications bar at the top of the home screen provides device and service status information and alerts. • To view alerts and status, drag the notifications bar downwards with your finger.
Buttons and Keys Open Apps • Just below the touchscreen, you’ll find the Home Key, Back Key, and Menu Key. • The right side of the touchscreen contains a column of favorite apps that are available from every Home screen. • If an app is on one of your Home screens, just tap it to open it. • If an app is not available from your Home screen, touch , tap Apps , and then tap the app icon. You may have to scroll right or left to find your app.
Enter Text Your device offers three touchscreen keyboards: Android keyboard, Swype™ (default), and TouchPal Keyboard. Select a field that requires text or numbers to display a keyboard. Switch keyboards: • Drag the notifications bar down, touch Choose input method, and then select a keyboard type. Note: Available settings vary by input method and may include language (English or Español), audio or touch feedback (sound or vibration), autocapitalization, auto-correct, and user dictionary options.
Projector Project a Saved File You can project a file stored on your Sprint LivePro. 1. Touch the Projector Key to turn on the projector. 2. Open the file you want to project. 3. Adjust the projection distance and place the device on a flat surface. Note: For best results, project onto a flat screen at a 90° angle to the floor. 4. Adjust the projector view: • To adjust the focus, rotate the Adjust Focus Wheel. 5. Touch the Projector Key to turn off the projector.
Project a File Saved in Your USB Device You can project a file stored on your USB device. 1. Connect your USB device to your Sprint LivePro. Note: Portable hard disk is not supported. 2. Touch the Projector Key to turn on the projector. 3. On the Home screen, touch . 4. Touch USB DEVICE to open the file you want to project. Project a Source on Your Phone You can display the content of your phone on your Sprint LivePro with a wireless link. 1. Touch the Projector Key to turn on the projector. 2.
Web and Data: Mobile Hotspot Mobile Hotspot allows you to turn your Sprint LivePro into a Wi-Fi hotspot. The feature works best when used in conjunction with LTE data services (although 3G service can also be used). Activate Mobile Hotspot 1. From the home screen, touch . 2. Touch to activate the service. • Using both LTE service and hotspot drains your device’s battery at a much faster rate than when using any other feature combination.
Web Browser Connect to a Wi-Fi Network Go Online When you’re in range of an available Wi-Fi network, use your device’s Wi-Fi feature to access the Internet and other data services. 1. Touch > Apps > Browser . 2. Touch the menu bar to enter a Web page address or touch Bookmarks and touch a bookmark. • For more options, touch from any page. Options may include Home, Bookmarks, Add to Bookmarks, Share page, Find on page, Save for offline reading, Downloads, Page info, Settings, and About Browser.
Power Bank Power Bank allows you to charge other devices through your Sprint LivePro. Charging Other Devices when Powered Off Charging Other Devices when Powered On 1. Connect your Sprint LivePro to your phone or other devices via a USB cable. 2. Press and hold the Power Bank Button until the indicator turns green. 1. Connect your Sprint LivePro to your phone or other devices via a USB cable. 2. Press and hold the Power Bank Button until the power bank icon is displayed in the status bar.
Pair and Connect With a Bluetooth Device Share Contacts, Files, or Pictures Using Bluetooth 1. Touch > Apps > Settings > Bluetooth. • If Bluetooth is turned off, touch the Bluetooth slider to turn it on. 2. Touch SEARCH FOR DEVICES to scan for available Bluetooth devices. 3. Select an available device and follow the prompts to pair the devices. You may be required to enter a passcode (often 0000) to complete pairing. 4. Once you’re paired, your connection should launch. 1.
Google Play and Google Mobile Services The Google Play Store™ is the place to find new apps, games, movies, and more. Download Apps and Games 1. Touch >Apps > Play Store . 2. Browse through featured apps and games, or tap at the top of the app to start a search. 3. Tap an item to read a description and reviews. 4. Tap INSTALL (for free apps) or the price (for paid applications) and follow the onscreen prompts.
Tools & Resources: Settings The Settings menu allows you to customize your device, set permission, download updates, and more. Access Settings 1. Touch > Apps > Settings . 2. Select the settings category you want to change. To select or clear check boxes (a common setting method), touch the check box. Battery-Saving Tips Manage the Display Brightness and Screen Timeout Manage Your Device’s Wireless Functions • Touch > Apps > Settings > Display > Brightness or Sleep to modify your settings. Disable the Projector, Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS functions of the device when you’re not using them. Use Task Manager to Stop Applications • Touch > Apps > Settings and disable any of these functions that are not in use.
