4. Switch on
Bluetooth tethering
. Your computer is now
sharing your phone's data connection.
NOTE:
To stop sharing your data connection, switch off

Sharing Mobile Data Through a Wi-Fi Hotspot
You can share your phone’s data connection with other devices
by turning your phone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The fea-
ture requires a data connection on a mobile network and may
result in data charges.
NOTE:
When the portable Wi-Fi hotspot feature is enabled,
you cannot use your phone’s Wi-Fi capability to access the
Internet. You still remain connected to the Internet via your
mobile data network.
1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and tap
Settings > Hotspot
.
2. Slide the switch to the
On
position. (If Wi-Fi was
active, tap
OK
to deactivate it.)
After a moment, the phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi net-
work name (SSID).
3. On another device, locate your phone via Wi-Fi and con-
nect with it to start using the phone’s mobile data.
NOTE:
To stop sharing your data connection, slide the switch
to the
Off
position.
Setting Up Your Wi-Fi Hotspot
You can change your phone's Wi-Fi network name (SSID), se-
cure your portable Wi-Fi hotspot, and set other options.
1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and tap
Settings > Hotspot
.
2. Tap an option to congure settings.

Congure:

Network name:
Enter or edit a network name (SSID) that
other devices see when scanning for Wi-Fi networks.

Channel:
To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi
networks, try using a different channel.

Security:
Choose a security option,
Open
(not
recommended) or
WPA2 PSK
(other users can access
your hotspot only if they enter the correct password).
When you select WPA2 PSK, tap the
Password
eld to
edit the security password.

Show password:
If you have chosen WPA2 PSK
security, check or uncheck to show or hide the
password.

Broadcast network name (SSID):
Check to broadcast
or uncheck to hide your network name (SSID). If the
broadcast is disabled, other users need to get your
network SSID to nd the Wi-Fi hotspot.
