Chapter 1 For Your Safety General Care Your handset contains delicate electronic circuitry, magnets and battery systems. You should treat it with care and give particular attention to the following points: • Do not allow the handset, battery or accessories to come into contact with liquids or moisture at any time. D300 User Manual Starting Up Installing the UIM/microSD Card and Battery Power off your phone before installing or replacing the battery, UIM card, and memory card. 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Hold your microSD card with the cut corner oriented as shown in the following picture and then insert it into the card holder properly. 3. Hold your UIM card with the cut corner oriented as shown below and then insert it into the card holder properly. 4.
D300 User Manual Removing the Battery and UIM/microSD Card 1. Make sure that your mobile phone is powered off. 2. Remove the battery cover. 3. Pull the battery up and remove it from the mobile phone. 4. Pull the UIM card out and remove it from the mobile phone. 5. Press the microSD card. After the card clicks out, slide it down gently and remove it from the holder. Charging the Battery The new battery is not fully charged. To charge the battery, you need to: 1. D300 User Manual Switching Your Phone to Sleep Mode Sleep Mode suspends your device to a low power state while the display is off to save battery power. Your device also goes into Sleep Mode automatically when you leave it idle after a certain period of time. To switch your phone to Sleep Mode: Press Power Key. Your screen will be turned off when it is in Sleep Mode. If you want to wake it up, you need to press Power Key. Unlocking the Screen After you wake up your phone, the screen is locked.
Chapter 3 Getting Around Your Phone Using the Touch Screen You can use finger gestures to control your phone. 4 Chapter Entering Text Input Modes When you enter a field that needs text or numbers, you can use one of the on-screen input methods to enter information. Your mobile phone provides two input methods: on-screen keypad and handwriting.

Chapter 7 Personal Information Contacts You can add new contacts along with their information. Setting up communication information for the contact will allow you to call the person quickly or browse the contact's information. Contactsare saved in the phone memory or in the UIM card. If you store the information in the UIM card, you can fill the name and a number. If you store the information in the phone memory, you can also fill out each information field including Email, address, pictures, etc.

8 Chapter Getting Connected Connecting to the Internet Your phone’s networking capabilities allow you to access the Internet. Network Access Point and Connections Before you begin, get the following information from your wireless service provider: • Access Point Name (APN) • Your user name and password if needed. • Server IP and the port number if the network uses a proxy server. 1. 9 Chapter Experiencing Multimedia Camera and Video Camera There is an integrated digital camera in your phone. You can take photos and short video clips with audio. The photos and videos can be sent via MMS or Bluetooth and the photos can be set as the wallpaper. Capturing a Photo or Recording a Video Clip 1. Tap Multimedia > Camera or press and hold the Camera Key from Home screen to activate the camera. 2. Tap to take a photo. 3. After a photo is taken, tap to send it via MMS or tap to discard it.

The earphone works as an antenna, so always connect the earphone when using the radio. When you receive an incoming call while listening to the radio, the radio will be turned off. Opening FM Radio Tap Applications > Radio or tap from Home screen to launch the FM radio. Listening to FM Radio Tap to search the channels automatically.
10 Chapter Setting up Your Phone Profiles Your phone provides several predefined user profiles. You can choose a profile according to your surroundings. Supported profiles include: Normal, Mute, Meeting, Outdoors, Custom and Flight Mode. Tap profile. to edit the profile. You can customize the vibration, volume, call ring, sms ring, etc. for each Notes: Activating Flight Mode will disable your mobile network connection. 11 Chapter Other Functions Managing Files Tap File Manager in the main menu to access the file manager. You can view and manage the images, audios, videos and other files in the phone and the microSD card. Phone User Folder The files received via the Internet, Bluetooth and MMS can be saved in the User Folder. You can also copy or move files from the microSD card to this folder.
D300 User Manual Tap a video file and you can open it, delete or rename it, send it via MMS or Bluetooth, copy or move it to other folders, or view its detailed information; Tap to mark the video file(s) and delete them; Tap to display the options menu. Other The downloaded and received files other than image, audio and video files can be saved in this folder. Brew The files downloaded by the Brew applications can be saved in the Brew folder.
D300 User Manual Text Reader This feature allows you to read the txt files in the phone and microSD card. You can save bookmarks when reading a txt file. Notepad This feature allows you to add new notes and edit existing notes. The new notes can be saved as a txt file in the phone or the microSD card. BCR This feature can recognize a business card and save the contact information in the contact list.
