Chapter 1 For Your Safety General Care Your handset contains delicate electronic circuitry, magnets and battery systems. Chapter 2 Introduction Overview Thank you for purchasing the F100 WCDMA/GSM/GPRS Mobile Phone. This F100 is a mobile phone operating in UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System), known as 3G, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) or 2G, and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) or 2.5G and achieves seamless handover between different networks.

ZTE F100 User Manual 3 Chapter Setting Up Your Phone Battery The accessory lithium battery of the handset can be immediately used after unpacking. A new battery will have the best performance after full charge/discharge cycles for the first three times. Installing the battery 1. Insert the battery carefully with the contacts located against the gold springs. 2. Push down the battery until it clicks into place. 3. Install the battery cover.
ZTE F100 User Manual Notes: • The phone automatically switches off if the battery voltage is too low. • When not using the battery for a long period, remove it from the phone and store it in a cool dry place. Removing the battery 1. Make sure the power is off. 2. Remove the back cover of your phone. 3. Use a fingernail to hook the edge of the battery and lift it away from the phone.
ZTE F100 User Manual Charging the battery Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery is not fully charged when first unpacked, but there may be enough power to power your phone on. You should use it up completely before charging the battery for the first time. Charge the battery with the procedure indicated below. 1. Insert the charger‟s USB adapter into the USB port. See the following pictures. 2. Connect the charger to a standard AC wall outlet. 3.

(U)SIM card You can obtain a (U)SIM card from a mobile phone service provider when you sign on as a subscriber. Installing the (U)SIM card 1. Press and hold End Key to power off your phone. 2. Remove the back cover and battery. See Setting Up Your Phone-Battery- Removing the battery. 3. Insert the (U)SIM card into the card holder. 4.
ZTE F100 User Manual • A (U)SIM card can be easily damaged if its metal contacts become scratched. Therefore, take special care when holding or inserting it. • The charger and other accessories should be disconnected from your phone before you insert or remove the (U)SIM card. • When inserting the (U)SIM card, make sure that the metal contacts face downward and the cut corner is in the right direction, as shown on your phone. Removing the (U)SIM card 1. Press and hold End Key to power off your phone.
ZTE F100 User Manual Removing the microSD card 1. Pull the microSD cover out of the card slot and rotate it 90 degrees. 2. Push the card so it clicks out. 3. Slide down gently and remove the card from the slot. Accessing the microSD card on the phone 1. Press Left Soft Key [Menu] in standby mode to open the main menu. 2. Select Applications > File Manager and press OK Key. 3. Press Right Key to get to microSD (TFlash) card interface. Then you can view the contents of microSD card on the phone.
ZTE F100 User Manual • When asked, enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) code or handset code and press OK Key to confirm. Notes: The PIN code is the password provided by your network service provider. You need this password to use the (U)SIM card. When the entered PIN code or handset code is accepted, the phone will automatically search for the designated network. After a few seconds, your phone will be in standby mode. To power off the phone, press and hold the End Key from the standby mode.
4 Chapter Basic Operations Navigating the Menus The phone features, various functions and settings are in menus and submenus. To select a function from menus: 1. Press Left Soft Key [Menu] from standby mode to open the main menu. 2. Use Navigation Keys to scroll up, down, left or right through the main menu. For example, scroll to Settings: 1. Press Left Soft Key [Menu] in standby mode. 2. Press Up/Down Key or Left/Right Key to scroll to the menu Settings.

If you are calling a number that does not meet these requirements, the phone will stop dialing the number. Making an International Call 1. Press * Key twice to enter "+". 2. Enter country code, area code, and the phone number. 3. Press Send Key or press OK Key [Call]. Calling an Extension Number 1. Enter the number. 2. Press * Key three times to enter "P". 3.

You can use the microphone on the earphone to talk if there is an incoming call. • Press the button on the earphone to answer the call. Caution: Adjust the volume to a moderate level to avoid injury to your ear, See Basic Operations-Answering a call-Setting volume. Answering a Video Call Press Send Key to answer it.

5 Chapter Text Entry Text Input Modes Your mobile phone provides the following text input modes: word predictive text mode, lowercase alphabetic mode, uppercase alphabetic mode and number mode. You can press # Key repeatedly to select an input mode, and press * Key to input symbols.

6 Chapter Menus Messages Messages SMS (Short Messaging Service) allow you to send text messages and manage the messages that you sent and received. You can also send and receive MMS (Multimedia Message Service) messages. MMS enables you to send messages with images, sounds and texts. Consult your service provider whether this service is available. You may need to register separately for this service. New message You can create a new message to be sent. • Send an SMS message i.

Delivery mode: You can set immediate delivery or defer it for a specified period of time. Camera There is an integrated digital camera in your phone. This application enables you to take a still picture and shoot a video clip. You can take a picture and use it as wallpaper or send it via MMS, E-mail or Bluetooth.

Press Right Soft Key [Discard] to discard the video just taken. Options for video camera mode While in video mode, press Left Soft Key [Options] for more options. • Video size: Set the size of your video clip. The length of the video recording is restricted by the Email size and MMS size.

The capacity of a phone book in your (U)SIM card depends on the type of (U)SIM card provided by your service provider.
