4.2.2SettingQoS
TheQualityofService(QoS)settingreferstothemodeinwhichthenetworkprocesses
IPpacketsaretransferredduringavideoconference.InanIPnetworkwithrestricted
resources,theterminalcanautomaticallyadapttopacketloss,jitter,anddelayinthe
networktoensurevideoandaudiotransmissionquality.
Prerequisite
Theterminalisnotengagedinaconference.
Context
lForwardErrorCorrection(FEC)enablestheterminaltoadoptspeciedredundancy
transmissionpoliciesthatwillguaranteeaclearandsmoothvideotransmissionunder
aspeciedpacketlossrate.
WhenenablingtheFECfunction,youarerecommendedtoenabletheIPAutoRate
function.
lAutoIPRatefunctionisusedtoincreaseordecreasethereal-timeconferencerate
automaticallyinaccordancewiththenetworksituation.Ifthepacketlossratioexceeds
aspeciedthreshold,thesystemdecreasestheconferencerate,andifthenetwork
recoverstothenormalsituation,thesystemincreasestheconferencerate.
