Engineering Specification
Zurn PEX Performa tubing is produced using the silane
method of cross-linking. It is used in residential and
commercial applications for radiant heating, snow and ice
melt, turf conditioning, hot water baseboard, water
distribution to manifolds, hydronic coils and radiant
cooling etc. Performa tubing has an EVOH oxygen
diffusion barrier applied to its exterior, limiting the oxygen
permeation through the tubing wall and into hydronic
heating applications, that can contibute to the corrosion
of ferrous metal parts in the heating system. The EVOH
barrier is capable of limiting oxygen diffusion through the
tube to no greater than 0.10 g/m^3/day at 104F water
temperture in accordance with DIN 4726.
