10.3.2 Syslog Server
The Prestige uses the UNIX syslog facility to log the CDR (Call Detail Record) and system messages to a
syslog server. Syslog and accounting can be configured in Menu 24.3.2 – System Maintenance – Syslog
and Accounting, as shown next.

You need to configure the UNIX syslog parameters described in the following table to activate syslog then
choose what you want to log.

PARAMETER DESCRIPTION
Syslog:
Active Press [space bar] to turn on (Yes) or off (No) syslog.
Syslog IP Address Enter the IP address that you wish to send your syslog to. The address is usually
written in dotted decimal notation such as a.b.c.d where a, b, c, and d are numbers
between 0 and 255.
Log Facility
Press [space bar] to toggle between the 7 different Local options. The log facility
allows you to log the message to different files in the server. Please refer to your
UNIX manual for more details.
NOTE: Your Prestige sends two different types of syslog messages:
Error Information Messages and Session Information Messages.
