Follow the steps below to back up the current Switch configuration to your computer in this screen.
1 Click Backup.
2 If the current configuration file is open and/or downloaded to your computer automatically, you can
click File > Save As to save the file to a specific place.
If a dialog box pops up asking whether you want to open or save the file, click Save or Save File to
download it to the default downloads folder on your computer. If a Save As screen displays after you
click Save or Save File, choose a location to save the file on your computer from the Save in drop-down
list box and type a descriptive name for it in the File name list box. Click Save to save the configuration
file to your computer.
43.6 Auto Configuration
You can load an auto configuration file from a TFTP server automatically when you reboot the Switch.
The Switch must have a dynamic IP address assigned by a DHCP server. Also, make sure the Switch can
communicate with the TFTP server.
See Section 6.4 on page 57 for the tutorial on how to use auto configuration.
Note: You need to configure a DHCP server to use auto configuration.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
Mode This field shows DHCP if auto configuration is enabled.
State After you reboot the Switch, this field displays whether an auto configuration file is
successfully loaded to the Switch.
None - When you reboot the Switch, auto configuration is not enabled.
Success - After you reboot the Switch, an auto configuration file is loaded successfully to
the Switch.
Un-success - After you reboot the Switch, an auto configuration file is not loaded
successfully to the Switch.
