55.3 Switch Configuration
I lost my configuration settings after I restarted the Switch.
Make sure you save your configuration into the Switch’s
nonvolatile memory each time you make changes. Click Save at
the top right corner of the web configurator to save the
configuration permanently. See also Section 43.2.2 on page 356 for more information about how to save
your configuration.
I accidentally unplugged the Switch. I’m not sure which configuration file will be loaded.
If you plug the power cable back to the Switch, it’ll reboot and load the configuration file that was used
the last time. For example, if Config 1 was used on the Switch before you accidentally unplugged the
Switch, Config 1 will be loaded when rebooting.
I followed the tutorial on how to use auto configuration, but it failed.
If you see a failure message in the Management > System Log screen, check the following steps. See
Section 6.4 on page 57 for more information on how to use auto configuration on the Switch.

Check the configurations on the DHCP server and TFTP server
1 Make sure the Switch can communicate with the TFTP server.
2 Make sure you’ve entered the correct IP address of the TFTP server on the DHCP server.
3 Make sure you’ve entered the correct filename for the auto configuration file on the DHCP server.
