The Adtemp™ 424 Tympanic IR Thermometer is a great thermometer to use for children. It is both fast and accurate and is used by placing the tip in an individual's ear and waiting only one second for the result. It can be used in Fahrenheit and Celsius, and has a temperature range of 89.6° F - 108° F and 32° C - 42.2° C. It has an accuracy of plus or minus .4° F and .2° C, which is within the requirements of the ASTM E1965-98 rating of accuracy.
