Air Circle's BL220F exhaust air safety switch protects against extremely dangerous, colorless and odorless carbon monoxide gas. Whenever an exhaust device such as an extractor hood and an open fireplace, such as a woodburning stove, are operated simultaneously, there is a risk of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning when the window is closed. In order to prevent this danger, the legislator has stipulated that, with the simultaneous operation of recirculating-air fireplaces and an exhaust air device, it must be ensured that no dangerous underpressure can occur, by e.g. sufficient outside air flows through an open window or ventilation flap.
