Description

The T-28 Trojan is a training aircraft which was developed in the 1940er. In the early 1950er, series production began with the 588 kW Wright R-1300-1A seven-cylinder radial engine and two-blade propeller. From this version a total of 1194 units were produced from 1954 onwards, the further development of T-28B with the stronger Wright R-1820-26 engine with 1047 kW power and a three-blade propeller was introduced. Later there were various variations. For example, the T-28C, which used the same engine as the T-28B and was also suitable for aircraft carriers thanks to the reinforced rear fuselage, brake flaps and catch hooks. It had its first flight on 19 September 1955 and was built in 299 units until 1957.
