This surface-mount box extender can be used with standard and mid-sized face plates, and is constructed of durable plastic that can be painted to match any décor. This single-gang box extender adds 5/8” in depth and 5.3 cu. in volume to the enclosure without altering or removing the existing electrical box. All you have to do is secure the box extender over the electrical box using the included mounting screws, install your desired component, and finish off by attaching a standard decorator face plate to the box extender.
