Cambridge Audio Aeromax 6

When Cambridge Audio visited Crutchfield recently with their latest creation, the Aeromax 6 floor-standing speakers, we were curious why they felt they needed to tinker around with the already great-sounding Aero 6 towers . After all, the Aero 6 pumps out deep, potent bass with clear, seamless mids and highs, and a soundstage that seems to go on forever. To demonstrate the abilities of their new Aeromax 6, Cambridge started by playing a nice selection of tunes on a pair of the Aero 6 floor-standers. Heads were bobbing and toes were tapping. Everyone agreed, this was good stuff. Then Cambridge connected the Aeromax 6, and jaws dropped! The bass was instantly tighter and more clearly defined — each note distinct and separate from the next. There was more detail and an increased sense of space, with more "air" around the instruments and vocals. In short, these were not subtle differences, but major improvements. Nice job, Cambridge!
