Small penguin, huge personality The Short Penguin's compact and stylish shape belies its powerful 5.0kW nominal heat output which makes it a great choice for typical sized living rooms with small fireplaces and with it also having a small footprint it's become a popular stove for canal boats, especially when the 1.4kW stainless steel domestic hot water boiler option is included. Please note that when using the boiler the Short Penguin will no longer be a Defra smoke exempted appliance.At just under 22" (540mm) high and just over 15" (380mm) wide the Short Penguin is eminently suitable for smaller openings too. When its optional rear flue box is incorporated you can significantly reduce the distance from the back of the fireplace and a rear fitted vertical flue pipe when compared to the normal method of standard T-pipe or 90º swept bend.
