Description
The Summer Crush Hydrangea is new for 2019 from Endless Summer Hydrangeas. This variety produces rich raspberry-red mophead blooms in late spring, and reblooms through fall. Therefore, this is truly 1 of the most prolific bloomers you can plant. Alkaline to neutral soil will produce the characteristic red blooms, while acidic soil results in purple flowers. This hydrangea also features spade shaped, light green foliage that is naturally compact, no pruning needed. Furthermore, the Summer Crush Hydrangea is deciduous. This means that it will go dormant after the first frost of winter and then return in spring. The Summer Crush is hardy in USDA Zones 4-9 and prefers a few hours of morning sun and afternoon shade for best results. Regular watering is important during the first growing season. Additionally, ensure that your soil has good drainage in order to prevent root rot. Fertilize yearly in early spring with a balanced fertilizer.
