No moving parts, thus highly reliable. Can be used in practically any tank. Can be installed anywhere. Not resistant to fuel and chemicals. Not suitable for fluids that can freeze, crystallise or that build up fixed residues. Open Collector output, TTL/CMOS compatible. Switching function: current flow on contact with fluid (make contact) or without fluid (break contact).
