Employing the smoothness and vibration absorption of a fluid head with the balance and range of movement of a traditional gimbal, the Gimbal Fluid Head from Gitzo is ideal for wildlife photography and bird watching, even for extensive observation and with heavy equipment. The head supports up to 17.6 lb of gear and weighs 3 lb itself. It has a tilting range of +/- 180° along with a full 360° panning rang, and both axes have independent locks for precise control. Using fluid cartridge technology, borrowed from the cine and video industry, movements are rendered smooth and stable and a fluidity control system, the Whip-Pan, affords precise control and maneuverability when tracking at high speeds.
