The R1 Tube Active is like the missing link of the real old one recording school as it combines three elements vintage: a classic belt transducer, two transformers, a tube amp. You might think that tape, transformers and a tube amplification stage will make the signal too uniform. It is true that the sound of the R1 Active Tube is really warm and rich, but the combination of the tube final stage and the transformers will generate harmonics that will make the signal.
