Description
While jersey knight hybrid asparagus is hardy enough to perform well, even in clay soil and to resist rust fungus, it's still tender, sweet and delicious. These predominantly male plants produce little to no seed, which ensures 2 or 3 times the average yield of jersey asparagus. The premium-quality spears grow up to 7 in. to 9 in. and up to 3/4 in. thick. While they're ready to harvest early in the season, the spear tips will stay tight for weeks to come. Includes one plant in a 2 inch pot Well drained preferred, quite tolerant of a wide range of soils, acidic soil, clay soil, loamy soil, sandy soil Late flowering (late spring) Reaches standard mature height of 36 inches Space plants approximately 12 in. to 18 in. apart for best results
