Description

Chocolate Persimmon bears fruits at a young age, so you'll enjoy deep orange fruits with sweet, chocolate-colored flesh sooner. The non-astringent fruits are tasty eaten fresh, baked into desserts and more. Growing 20 ft. to 25 ft. tall, the tree is very ornamental. Foliage emerges lime green in the spring, turns dark green in the summer and orange in the fall. Fruits ripen in late October to early November. Chocolate Persimmon requires less than 200 chill hours in order to produce fruit, and is tolerant of heat and humidity, making it a good choice for the South.
